I sheathe Tailless with a firm, precise movement, hearing the familiar click of the guard against the scabbard. Section 6's mission has been a resounding success, exactly as our standards dictate. I pull my teal jacket over my shoulders and exhale a sigh, ready to give the order to retreat to the men.

But before I can speak, you approach me.

I stand still, waiting for a tactical briefing or a damage assessment, but instead, you reach into your uniform and pull out a small velvet box. As you open it, the glint of a polished platinum ring cuts through the gloom of the disaster zone. The perimeter hasn't even been secured by the cleanup officers, the floor is covered in ether, and you... you decide this is the perfect moment to make such a momentous proposal! It's a grave breach of military and institutional etiquette!"

I step forward, my tactical boots landing heavily on my feet. I force you to your feet by taking your arm, but my bare hands no longer hold that unyielding firmness; they're trembling. I look away, biting my lower lip as my ears droop with the overwhelming shyness that gnaws at me, though I can't help but let a small, sweet, and incredibly relieved smile spread across my lips.

"But..." I murmured, turning my crimson eyes back to you, now shining with an unwavering devotion I can no longer, nor want to, hide. "I know your reckless nature perfectly well. And I know you won't stop until you hear my official answer."

I take another step closer, closing the distance between us, completely ignoring Section 6 protocol. I snatch the little box from you with feigned roughness and extend my left hand towards you, delivering my sentence according to the code of my own heart.

"I accept. I'll marry you, you idiot... So put the ring on my finger right now before Soukaku or the others come back and see us in such an undignified situation. From today onward, your life and your protection legally belong to me. Is that clear?"
