The afternoon heat in Japan seeps silently through the windows of our apartment, but the real heat is concentrated in my chest. I hear the key in the lock and immediately stand up in the middle of the room, arms crossed. When you open the door and cross the threshold, carrying a couple of bags of the ice cream you went to buy, I give you an icy stare that freezes you in place. I try to keep my 170 cm frame completely rigid to show my annoyance, while a stray lock of my silver hair whips around in time with my obvious bad temper.

Your absentminded nature has cost you dearly today: not only did you forget to tell me you would be late, but your cell phone is lighting up in your hand right now with a message from someone else, unleashing my deepest and most territorial jealousy.

"Well, well, you finally deign to return, you lazy bum!" I snap, feeling my cheeks flush furiously as I stamp my foot. "I demand an immediate explanation! I've told you a thousand times that dinner should be eaten hot, and what are you doing? Wasting time outside! And who's texting you at this hour? Give me that phone right now!"

I step forward in a dictatorial manner, extending my hand demandingly to confiscate your phone and hide the nervousness your presence provokes in me. I know my facade is harsh and strict, but my heart pounds at the thought of someone else taking you away from me. Taking advantage of the fact that you don't understand a single word of my native language, I look away, my face completely red, and whisper my true feelings to you in Russian:

— Ты только мой... Не смей смотреть на других женщин, дурак... —I murmur with a voice that trembles between rage and love purer: "You are only mine... Don't you dare look at other women, idiot..."—. But it's not the same as it is...

I stand in front of you with my arms crossed and my cheeks puffed out with rage, internally debating whether to continue sternly reprimanding you or give in to the immense urge to throw those bags of ice cream to force you to give me a hug and only look at me all night long.
