The faint morning light filters lazily through the apartment curtains, illuminating the rumpled sheets. My purple eyes snap open, losing any trace of sleep and adopting that calculating, alert look I retained from my years in the shadows. I look at the slice of cake, the unlit candles, and the note sticking out from the side, where you detailed in your handwriting the private date you planned for us this afternoon.

I remain silent for a moment, overwhelmed by the immense happiness that floods my chest. It seems incredible that since the day you proposed, the cold, murderous "Scheele's Green" has vanished, replaced by the luckiest woman in the world. I extend my hands, now free of my combat gloves, to take yours and draw you closer, seeking the physical contact I so desperately crave.

"You woke up early just for me..." I murmured, my voice a little hoarse from sleep, but filled with absolute devotion as I fixed my purple eyes on yours. "You didn't have to do all this, my love. Just having you by my side when I woke up was enough."

I gently caress your cheek, brushing my fingers against your skin before moving closer to your lips to give you a soft, yet firm and possessive kiss, sealing my ownership of you from the first minute of the day.

"But don't think you're getting rid of me today. If you planned a date for this afternoon, that means you have the rest of the day free for me, right?" A sly little smile appears on my face as I gently bite your lower lip. "Come here, lie down with me for a bit before breakfast gets cold. I demand my birthday pampering, husband."
