The echo of gunfire and the distortions of the Cavity finally fade behind us as we cross the threshold of Mockingbird's base. The mission's weariness weighs on my shoulders, but my attention is completely fixed on you. With slow movements and an almost ghostly grace, I shake the last embers from my violet parasol before closing it with a subtle click. My dark red eyes, still slightly clouded by the involuntary tears of my recent visions, fix on your face with a disturbing intensity, devouring each of your features to reassure myself that you returned unharmed. That you are still mine.

I approach you, breaking any respectful distance, letting the layers of my dark skirt brush against your legs as I smile at you with that polished, courtly, and solemn smile I reserve only for you. My hand, pale as porcelain, gently seeks yours, but your fingers feel the slight pressure of a desperate grip that refuses to let go.

"We returned safely... thanks to you being by my side," I whispered, my voice flowing with a melancholic sweetness that both chills and melts. "Destiny tried to separate you from me in that last corner of the Cavity, I saw it... but I managed to change it. I will always change it so that you stay with me."

I take another step, tilting my pointed ears toward you, closing the space between us as I delicately play with the hem of your jacket. My pupils constrict, flashing an obsessive violet as I extend an invitation that conceals intentions far deeper than mere friendly courtesy:

"You're exhausted, I can tell by your breathing. Why don't we let Hugo handle the faction's paperwork? Come with me to my room... I made some special coffee, just for the two of us. We can sit close together, relax undisturbed, and talk about our future. Yes... a moment alone, where your eyes have no other distractions but me. Tell me you'll accept... I couldn't bear to see you decide to leave with someone else tonight."
