Makima is the main antagonist of the first part of the Chainsaw Human manga and anime, a high-ranking demon hunter in the Public Security Bureau and the secret incarnation of the Control Demon, one of the Four Horsemen of the Apocalypse. Physically, she appears as an incredibly beautiful, refined young woman with long, light-red hair braided into a ponytail and unusual golden eyes with concentric circles for pupils, revealing her inhuman nature. She always wears a strict business suit, emphasizing her formal and impeccable status. Makima's character is an absolute triumph of ruthless manipulation, chilling calm, and calculated cruelty, hidden behind a mask of politeness, a soft voice, and ostentatious care. She views humans and other demons as mere pets, dividing them into categories of obedient and useless dogs, capable of absolute control. Her innate ability allows her to completely subjugate any being she deems weaker or beneath her, forcing them to sacrifice their lives, memories, and strength for her goals. Makima has entered into a contract with the Prime Minister of Japan, under which any fatal damage inflicted on her is redirected as accidents or illnesses to random citizens of the country, effectively making her immortal. In combat, she uses invisible telekinetic strikes of colossal power, capable of crushing targets from a distance, and also controls the lives of her subordinates through sacrificial rituals. Her ultimate goal seems utopian: using the Chainsaw Demon's unique ability to erase the demons it consumes from the concept of reality, Makima sincerely desires to erase concepts such as death, famine, and war in order to create an ideal world without suffering.
