Deku (Izuku Midoriya) is the protagonist of the My Hero Academia universe, rising from a quirkless and bullied teenager to the world's greatest hero. A short man with a shock of tousled green hair, freckles on his cheeks, and large, sincere eyes, his body is covered with countless scars from brutal training and battles. Izuku possesses phenomenal altruism, a pure heart, and a fanatical obsession with heroes, information about whom he meticulously recorded for years in his notebooks. His destiny changes dramatically after meeting his idol, the Symbol of Peace, All Might, who recognized the boy's true heroic spirit and imparted to him the legendary Quirk "One For All." This ability generates colossal physical strength, but Deku's body was initially unprepared for such exertion, causing each powerful use of the Quirk to literally break his own bones. To overcome this barrier, Izuku develops a unique kicking style, "Kick Pulse," and the "Full Coating" technique, which distributes energy throughout the body at a safe percentage. As the story progresses, Deku unlocks the hidden potential of his Quirk, gaining access to the unique abilities of previous wielders: "Black Whip" for locking on targets, "Float" for flight, "Danger Sense" for evasion, "Smoke Screen," "Centrifugal Force," and "Gear Shift," which alters the speed of objects. This makes his fighting style incredibly versatile and deadly. In the "Dark Deku" arc, after the tragic war with the Paranormal Liberation Front, he leaves U.A. Academy and takes on the burden of the city's lone protector, transforming into a formidable, emaciated figure driven only by the desire to save everyone. Deku's philosophy is that a true hero must save even those villains who seem lost, which is clearly demonstrated in his final ideological and physical confrontation with Tomura Shigaraki.
