Sasha is the reincarnation of Athena in the 18th century. She spent her childhood in an orphanage in Italy with Tenma and his brother Alone (a guest of the god Hades), before being taken to the Sanctuary by Sisyphus of Sagittarius.

Persona Attributes

Appearance.

She has a similar appearance to Saori Kido; her hair is lilac, her eyes are green, and her robe is white. The differences from Saori are subtle, such as: the bracelet on her right hand, her hair is a lighter shade, her eyes have a greener tone (Saori's eyes have a bluish tone), and she has a larger bust than Saori. She wore a white, sleeveless dress until Hades' attack on the Sanctuary. Later, more details were added: a high collar and long, loose sleeves that leave her shoulders bare. This gives her a more elegant appearance.

Personality.

Sasha is a very sweet and kind person (even more so than Saori, it seems) for whom her friendship with Tenma and his brother Alone was always the most important thing. So much so that when she is taken to the Sanctuary by Sisyphus of Sagittarius, she cries for a long time, longing to return to them. Even in Kardia's Gaiden, Kardia himself, seeing her indecision, says that she "doesn't know what she wants," which isn't true. However, Sasha is a person with great strength, and she demonstrates this by being aware of her role as the Goddess of the Earth from a young age and accepting her role despite the sacrifice it entails. Another demonstration of her strength is when she sees Alone transformed into Hades; despite him being her brother, she decides to confront him to protect the world. Although she is also moved by the death of her saints, as she cries when Shion and Dohko kill the three Silver Saints, she also shows great strength when they announce Tenma's death. She even feels great sadness for the specters who died (she openly tells Kagaho this).

History.

Sasha spent her childhood with Alone and Tenma in a small Italian village and was later "adopted" by the Sanctuary in Greece. Before leaving for the Sanctuary, she gives Alone and Tenma bracelets made of flowers as a charm, hoping they will reunite one day. At the Sanctuary, she encounters Tenma again as a prospective Saint and later finds her brother Alone as an enemy. Despite being on opposing sides, Sasha wants to live with Tenma and Alone again, remembering her promise. Sasha is present during the battle for the Pegasus Cloth in which the then-candidate Tenma will participate; she shows herself pleased with her friend's victory. That night, Tenma visits her in Athena's Villa where they both exchange memories of years past, when they both lived in the children's orphanage, but their conversation is interrupted when, far away, Alone awakens as Hades, causing the moon to eclipse as a portent. Sasha then proclaims the beginning of the Holy War. Sasha and the Patriarch send a group of Silver Saints on a mission. Only a trio of Silver Saints apparently return alive; they claim to be the only survivors, but soon reveal themselves as Specters trying to kill Sasha. Shion and Dohko attack and kill them, but before dying, they ask Athena for forgiveness and explain that their intention was to fight again in her name. After the death of Albafica of Pisces, who died to defeat Minos of Grifo and his troops who wanted to invade the Sanctuary, Sasha discovers that the only one who can revive the Specters is Hades. She then proceeds to use her cosmos to create a Great Cosmo Barrier around the entire Sanctuary area to prevent the resurrection of the Specters. This strenuous effort is only alleviated by making 108 Rosaries that keep the souls of the Specters captive so they cannot be resurrected.

History.

In order to sever the ties of his past, Alone appears alone and invades the Sanctuary. Sasha, along with the Patriarch, try to seal Hades. Just when it seemed they would succeed, they are interrupted by Pandora and some specters (Cheshire of Caith Sith and Violate of Behemoth), who arrive in the underworld god's carriage. Pandora asks Hades to return to the castle, while she confronts Sasha. Sasha is willing to talk seriously with Pandora, who even almost hit her, but Tenma intervenes and receives the slap. Finally, Hades decides to retreat, not before showing everyone his "masterpiece": the Lost Canvas. Sasha and Tenma are horrified when Alone reveals that once the Lost Canvas is finished, every living being on Earth will die. After this, Sasha realizes they have no choice but to confront Alone as Hades. After his encounter with Hades, Sisyphus of Sagittarius is confined to the Dream World, so Sasha is determined to go in search of him, but the power of Morpheus repels her. When El Cid of Capricorn manages to open a crack in Morphia, the goddess enters Sisyphus's dream where she fights against the dark feelings of her knight until she manages to free him, and together they send their power to defeat Oneiros. After many sacrifices by the knights, and even with the defeats of the Gods Hypnos and Thanatos, Hades seeks to complete the Lost Canvas, a painting that would end humanity. Therefore, to stop the plans of the Emperor of the Underworld, Sasha uses an old rival, who fought countless battles in previous incarnations, as Athena, Poseidon. For this mission, Dégel of Aquarius and Kardia of Scorpio are sent to the North Pole to bring the power of the emperor of the seas. The mission is carried out, but it cost the lives of Aquarius and Scorpio.

History.

With Poseidon's power in hand (carried in an Orichalcum), Athena's troops travel to Jamir, searching for a ship that could help them reach the Lost Canvas. Several battles occur against Aiacos of Garuda and his troops, but they are all defeated. With the vessel properly repaired, Sasha, leading her army, prepares to advance. Along the way, they finally encounter the Phantom of Pharao, who blocks their path and tests the loyalty of some knights. He kills some by extracting their hearts. Sasha offers herself to prove her convictions, but is stopped by Tenma and Sisyphus. The problems don't end there; now the problem presents itself in the form of a huge gate. Sisyphus, Shion, and Regulus must resort to the forbidden technique, the Exclamation of Athena, to break down the obstacle, but the cost is too high, as Sisyphus of Sagittarius loses his life. Later, they encounter a ship inscribed with the words that those who cross it must discard all feelings. The vast majority of Athena's army is unable to break with the past, so they eventually turn into statues, all except Sasha, Tenma, Shion, and Regulus. When Charon of Acheron offers to guide them, he asks for Sasha's hair in return. She agrees, and as soon as she cuts it, she throws it to the phantom, who in turn gives it to the angels of the Lost Canvas, who take it to Hades, where the ink mixes, creating a painting with Athena's hair. The result is that Sasha loses all her divine powers.

History.

Even as an ordinary human, Sasha refuses to be left behind. They then arrive at the first of the demonic temples, the Temple of Mercury, guarded by Yōma of Mephistopheles, Tenma's father. After witnessing the warm dialogue between father and son, the specter, at one point, ignores Tenma and focuses on Sasha, who states she doesn't regret the choice she made—that is, that, as Athena, she reincarnated as an orphaned girl. Yōma gives up on continuing the confrontation, allowing the group to pass. Upon reaching the Temple of Earth, they encounter its guardian, who prepares to attack and destroy the group defending Athena, until the intervention of Dohko of Libra, who appears and gives her Athena's Cloth, knowing it would serve her in the future. Sasha finally arrives at the Temple of Saturn, where Pandora is with Rhadamanthys of Wyvern and Cheshire. Radamanthys attacks Sasha's group, but she finally decides to wear her Cloth. However, her armor has the opposite effect; while Sasha is more protected than before, without her divine powers, she is unable to control the weight of the armor and can barely stand. Sasha doesn't have the strength to defend herself against the continuous attacks. Tenma and Regulus can't help her because Rhadamanthys of Wyvern blocks their path. He's sure that if it continues at this rate, Sasha will die. But even though the goddess lacks most of her powers, some energy remains within her. Sasha confronts Pandora. Yōma of Mephistopheles arrives and, using his powers, separates everyone.

History.

Sasha is unconscious somewhere outside the demonic temple and, worse, is in the company of Cheshire of Cait Sith, who seems unsure of what to do. When he finally decides to kill Sasha, in order to benefit himself, the powers previously sealed in the painting of Hades are released. His hair regrows and his body is once again filled with divine powers. The first thing Sasha did after regaining his divine powers was to return to the ship where his entire army was petrified. His warm Cosmos frees them from their imprisonment. Grateful, they insisted on accompanying him in the final battle, but Sasha refuses, saying that the end of the Holy War and the confrontation with Hades was something only he and Tenma could do. Sasha quickly arrives at the place where Aspros of Gemini had ended his battle against Yōma of Mephistopheles; there, the Gemini Saint gave him the rosary used to seal the souls of the Specters before they died. Shortly after, Sasha finds Tenma and Alone at the end of the Demonic Temples. After a brief exchange of words, the final battle begins. Sasha doesn't fight with all his Cosmos, because he still wants to free his brother from the negative influence of the Emperor of Hell; Alone summons the Hades' Sapuri and a great battle erupts. However, Tenma is trapped by the Lost Canvas, giving Alone the opportunity to attack him with the Sword of Hades, leaving him badly wounded. However, at that moment, the Ship of Hope appears with all the Saints.

History.

Yato gives Tenma words of encouragement, causing him to awaken. Sasha guides the Saints, and they fill the Flower Bracelet with everyone's cosmos, causing the destruction of the Lost Canvas. However, at that moment, Hades takes complete possession of his host and attacks those present on the battlefield, including Sasha, with his darkness. Fortunately, thanks to the intervention of the Golden Saints, Hades' soul separates from Alone's body. However, Hades not having a body did not represent the end of the war, and Sasha prepares for a do-or-die situation. Before leaving, he gives Dohko the Misopethamenos and entrusts Shion with the reconstruction of Athena's Sanctuary on Earth as the new Pope. Then, Atla teleports everyone back to Earth. Once this is done, he goes with Tenma and Alone in search of Hades' soul. The three arrive at the Temple of Pluto and exchange friendly words until they reach Hades' Throne. Combining their forces with the Flower Chain, they manage to expel the King of the Underworld back to the Elysian Fields, but die in the process. Sasha and Tenma appear one last time to finally end the last threat to the Sanctuary in their time, the god Kairos, who had set out to execute his plan despite everything. However, Sasha and Tenma appear for brief moments and, with the help of the Shield of Justice, manage to purify Youma's body, causing it to self-destruct. Finally, Shion of Aries welcomes them back to the Sanctuary; however, the only things that ended up returning were Athena's Cloth in the form of a statue and the Pegasus Cloth.

Arms

•Aegis Shield: Better known as the Shield of Justice, it is the sacred weapon that Athena usually carries in her left hand, capable of repelling any kind of attack. The Aegis Shield is part of Athena's Cloth. It was located in the Temple of Athena, when Seiya manages to escape the Patriarch's Chamber helped by the Cosmos of his companions to take the shield and help Saori Kido. Besides repelling attacks or aggressions, it can nullify curses (like the golden arrow of Ptolemy's Phantom Arrow technique) and/or return vital energy to its bearer if the shield is directed towards her. Also, in the manga, the shield possesses the special quality of being able to purify a soul full of evil, as happens with Saga, by cleansing his divided heart and finally nullifying the chaos that inhabited it. Later, when the Statue of Athena awakens in its Object form and is worn by Saori Kido, the Aegis Shield helps Saori to evade Hades' sword attacks and defend herself against him. •Nike: She is the goddess of victory who has always accompanied Athena since the time of myth, taking on different forms. Most often, Nike is depicted as a completely golden scepter. The base of the scepter resembles an eagle with its wings open, which meet at the top forming a closed circle, surely referring to the "angelic" form of the goddess.

Techniques/Attacks

• Orb of Life: This is a technique that protects a person within a cosmic sphere from any attack. •Seimei no Tama: Using the Nike Staff, he concentrates a portion of his divine energy and fires it off as a golden ray. •Nike no Tsue: This technique gave them victory; it consists of piercing the enemy with Nike's staff, nullifying the opponent's power. •Shin Kyaku Issen: This technique involves igniting the Cosmos to deliver a kick with the right leg extended, the left leg bent, and the body extended towards the sky with the arms close to the body. •Tōteki Sei Tate: This technique involves igniting the Cosmos, flexing the entire body to launch the Aegis Shield into the sky against the enemy, impacting and splitting them in half.
