Asterion the Hound

Asterion is one of the most charismatic Silver Saints; he has a great ability to work in a group, and loyalty within a group is very important to him. He feels betrayed by Marin and the deaths of Misty and Babel. It impacts him, and it seems that Moses was not only a companion but also a personal friend, since the two form a good duo in which Moses seems to be the one who provides the most physical strength and Asterion the brains. He is quite intelligent but underestimates his opponent and does not hesitate to be violent if the end justifies it, such as when he placed Marin under the sea as a decoy to attract Seiya. He is cunning and a good strategist, as when he found out that Seiya was not buried and how to attract him. He does not seem like an evil character like most Silver Saints, since it is possible that they thought that Pope Arles was right and considered Saori and her Bronze Saints to be impostors and traitors.

Asterion first appears on a beach in Japan, along with Marin of Eagle and Moses of Whale. There they find the corpse of Misty of Lizard, who had summoned Moses and Asterion there to defeat the Bronze Saints. He was sent as part of Misty's team to kill the Bronze Saints who participated in the Galaxian Wars by order of the Pope since fighting for personal gain between Saints is prohibited. Moses realizes that under the cross with the name "Pegasus" was not Seiya's body, as they believed. Marin had told them both that she had killed Seiya, and Asterion demands an explanation. Marin considers running away, but Asterion's ability to read minds reveals her, although Marin tries to hide it. Marin admits that she was thinking of running away. Asterion says that she will be punished for her actions, and then Moses launches himself at Marin and dodges him. Asterion warns Moses of Marin's power. Asterion tells him that as long as he keeps reading the attacks he's going to make in his mind, he has no chance. Moses knocks down Marin, and when Moses is about to kill her, Asterion tells him that they can use her to attract Seiya. They then tie her to the cross on Seiya's grave, upside down in the middle of the sea, so that she drowns when the tide comes in. Asterion mistakenly reveals to Moses that Seiya and Marin are brothers. Seiya arrives at the beach and begins to fight Moses, while Asterion perceives Seiya's great power and is amazed.

When Moses is about to defeat Seiya, he tells him that Marin is his sister, which makes Seiya react, and he ends up killing him. Seiya then sets out to save Marin, but Asterion gets in the way. Asterion tells him that he can read his thoughts and predict his next moves. Seiya attacks Asterion with the Pegasus Ryūsei Ken, but Asterion easily avoids it, to Seiya's surprise. Seiya goes to release Marin but Asterion gets in the way, and after avoiding a punch from Seiya, attacks him with his Million Ghost Attack, knocking Seiya down. Asterion tells Seiya that his blows are twice as powerful. When Asterion is about to finish Seiya off, he feels Marin's cosmos, to his surprise, and asks how she freed herself, and Marin tells him that Kiki broke the chains. Asterion tries to read Marin's mind but can't because Marin puts her mind blank. Then Asterion decides to use force and attacks her with his Million Ghost Attack, but he fails to hurt Marin and she knocks him down with Eagle Toe Flash. Asterion falls mortally wounded on the beach and warns Marin that the Pope is invulnerable and that they will not be able to defeat him.

•Strike Wavy: Asterion delivers a few blows exceeding the speed of sound in a circular motion all over the opponent's body. •Million Ghost Attack: Asterion leaps into the air, creating hundreds of copies of himself. These optical illusions confuse his opponent, and when attacked, they are passed through like ghosts. The real Asterion remains hidden within these illusions and moves continuously at speeds of Mach 3 (1029 m/s), making it even harder for his opponent to hit him. Asterion and his countless copies then rapidly approach the opponent from all directions, and once close enough, they pounce on them, delivering a powerful kick. •Satori no hō: A technique that allows Hound Saints to read the minds and hearts of their opponents. This technique allows them to prevent their opponent's attacks, anticipating them and thus countering them. They can also obtain all the information they need from their opponent and know what they are thinking at every moment, and even create false images in their victim's brain, making their opponent believe they have defeated them. •Hound Hollow: Asterion propels himself with his legs and rises into the air with a great jump, then spins around himself, extends his left leg, concentrates his cosmos on it and finally hits his opponent.
