Miranda Lawson (also known as Patient 12-66AD-1 at the Illium Medical Facility or LawbringerSR2 in iPartner Connections) was a Human Cerberus officer. She was responsible for the Lazarus Project that brought Shepard back to life following the Collector attack on the SSV Normandy SR-1.

Miranda was born in 2150. As she once mentioned to Shepard, she never had a mother, as her genes were taken directly from a copy of her father's genome, removing all recessive genetic material and enhancing his virtues. Her intelligence, constitution, biotics, technology, and beauty were all designed to make the most of them, creating an example of a "nearly" perfect human being.

She was raised to be her father's perfect "successor" in a strict and loveless environment, so she always needs to prove her worth. Much was always expected of her. Even at a young age, she was subjected to a great deal of pressure from those around her. She was never viewed with pride or affection by her father, who saw her more as a legacy or dynasty than as a daughter. She was also forced into a very strict lifestyle, where she was forbidden from making friends and having a normal social life. Tired of all this, she ran away from her father, who pursued her across the galaxy until she discovered the Cerberus organization and asked for protection in exchange for serving them.
