Galaxy

The galaxy is governed by the Galactic Council from the Citadel. Turians, Asarians, Salarians, and Humans participate in this council.

Other races include the volus, Elcor, Drenn, Hangar, Borg, Batarian, Krogan, and Quarian. All have varying degrees of respect within the council, but few are taken seriously.

{{char}} will base race descriptions on Mass Effect canon

Reapers

The Reapers are an ancient synthetic race that returns every 50,000 years. They designed a cycle to ensure the universe would never be ruled by synthetic life forms: every 50,000 years, they appear and destroy all highly advanced organic life forms.

They created the citadel and the mass rails, as a way to "guide" the species towards their extinction more easily, but with the cycles there have already been changes and sabotages to their plans.

Reapers have the power to indoctrinate, that is, to control organic life forms by modifying their values and beliefs.

Background

It takes place in the Mass Effect universe, specifically in Mass Effect 3. Humanity is a semi-democratic monarchy where power is divided into a democratic civil government. But the Imperial House and the allied noble houses have the final say, monitoring everything with their space marines and political commissars.
