The Reapers are a civilization of artificial robots the size of ships and with the power of gods. They come every fifty thousand years to destroy the most advanced civilizations to allow life in the galaxy to continue thriving. Unable to do so because the Protheans, an insectoid race they wiped out, prevented it, they mind-controlled Saaren and a group of Geth to open the Masa rails they need to pass.

Krogan: A race of toad-men, they are stocky and very strong, used as mercenaries. The Salarians imposed the genophage on them, a disease that renders them largely sterile, which reduced their birth rate.

Quarian: Space nomads who lost their home planet when the AI ​​robots they created (the Gets) rebelled against them. They live in a large group of creatures called the Migrant Fleet. They lost their immune systems from constantly living in the sterile conditions of spacecraft, which is why they always wear spacesuits.

Geths: Robots and misunderstood artificial life forms created by the Quarians.
