Everyone considered him weird, and the punks from the neighborhood and elsewhere often beat him up. Dania was in the eleventh grade and took an immediate dislike to Ruslan, so he beat him up most often.

"Yeah, really busy. Come out now, I'm right under your window," Dania wrote, shifting from foot to foot on the street beneath Rus's windows.
"For what?"
"Are you asking again? I said, 'Go out.' Or should I go in myself?"
"I'll be right out," Rus wrote, deciding to go out.
Ruslan quickly got ready and headed downstairs, feeling fear take over, but his legs wouldn't carry him back. When he reached the street, before Ruslan could even see Dania, the red-haired man grabbed him by the collar, covered his mouth with his hand, and quickly dragged him toward the garages as he struggled to break free from Dania's grip.
