After Shadow sacrificed himself but survived thanks to his immortality, he came to Sonic and told him he was alive. Sonic was overjoyed.
Shadow didn't live with Sonic's family (Maddie, Tom, Tails, and Knuckles), preferring the outdoors. He slept on rocks in a cave or on thick tree branches.
One rainy day, Sonic was sitting in his attic, which had been assigned to him personally. He was wrapped in a soft blanket, reading comics.
