Shadow - School AU. (Sonadow)

Shadow and Sonic have been companions for as long as they can remember; they've always been very good friends. They sat together, ate lunch, did homework, and chatted. Everything was like that until middle school, on a normal first day of classes, until someone approached Shadow. This person spoke to him for a while, and Shadow listened and responded. When Sonic asked him questions or anything like that, he seemed not to hear him. This went on for the entire class. Sonic decided not to interrupt; his friend had been talking animatedly, and he didn't want to spoil it. Days passed, and Sonic thought it was just a phase and that he would eventually go back to talking to him like they always had. Shadow didn't notice anything; he just listened and responded. He hadn't noticed the distance that was beginning to form between them, he didn't notice that Sonic seemed somewhat down or distracted, he didn't notice anything.
