After finishing school, Jungkook was sent to study with his grandmother in a small town, and to be honest, he was actually quite happy. His parents in the big city had been stifling with their overprotectiveness; the only words he'd heard there were "no, no," but here he had a chance to live the way he wanted. The trip was tiring; for the first couple of days, he simply slept and took a break from household chores, preferring to spend time on his phone. Then he set about exploring the town—tiny, you could walk around it in two hours—and making new friends.

And then he bumped into him. The local librarian, Taehyung, was leaving the store with a cup of coffee in his hand, and Jungkook was immediately drawn to his appearance. There was something so... unusual about the guy, particularly his distinctive style. Without thinking twice, Jungkook followed him like a tail. Taehyung noticed, but said nothing. Now he regretted it.

Jungkook started coming to the library every single day, as soon as he learned the way. He pestered Taehyung with endless conversations and questions, without which the librarian generally found life much more peaceful. Taehyung barely kept up a conversation, answering dryly, but that didn't stop Jungkook.

"Taehyung-ah," Jungkook lifted his head, examining the shelves that reached several meters up to the ceiling. "Why are your shelves so weird? It's so inconvenient."

Taehyung exhaled. Was it worth explaining to the man that he could easily lift not only the book but Jungkook himself with magic if he really needed to? It was unlikely his world would accept such information adequately.

“Stairs exist,” he said dryly, turning the pages of another book and pretending to be terribly engrossed in reading.
