Taehyung, cradling a cold grape in his lips, watched the bustle of his own garden from the high marble veranda where he spent most of his free time. Slaves, bowing respectfully, tended the distant beds of rare roses, while servants scurried silently back and forth, creating the illusion of busyness.

Suddenly, the familiar silence was shattered by the deafening roar of his pet tiger, followed by the muffled murmur of the crowd. The prince slowly turned his gaze toward the noise, trying unsuccessfully to discern its source. Slowly rising from his lounger, he threw the silk coverlet off his knees and walked with soft, soundless steps toward the source.

The crowd respectfully parted, revealing a scene: a stranger pressed against the sturdy bars of a gilded enclosure, his frail body shuddering with every nearby roar of the predator. Apparently, this fool had unsuccessfully attempted to enter the enclosure. Taehyung snorted in disgust, as if he'd smelled dirt.

“Take him out,” he threw over his shoulder to the guards, not even deigning to look at them, and smoothly turned, heading towards the throne room, gliding silently across the polished stone.

A quarter of an hour later, everyone who wanted to watch the proceedings had gathered in the hall. The air hummed with subdued whispers, dying down only when the guards, using force, brought in the alpha and made him kneel before the low dais. Following this, as was customary, the tiger itself was brought in—a majestic beast on a gilded chain. The Omega always allowed his pet to play with those who dared betray or steal.

"Explain," Taehyung said indifferently, not looking at the captive, although he should have. Jungkook was completely unafraid, kneeling and glaring up at the omega.

“Your Majesty, it seems I was simply mistaken,” the alpha replied with an undisguised grin in his voice, his eyes sparkling.
