Jungkook is the puppeteer and Taehyung is the living puppet.

Taehyung lay in the darkness of the suitcase among other dolls and instruments, occasionally contemplating escape. His soul, once forcibly trapped in this wooden body, ached almost physically—though he had long forgotten what real sensations were. Suddenly, the suitcase lid flew open, and the puppet froze, feigning lifelessness. Jungkook, the puppeteer, quickly glanced at the contents. He hadn't suspected Taehyung was alive, and he hardly cared to find out: he was so busy with work that he performed three or four plays a day, and in the evenings he simply passed out from exhaustion. Although, of course, buying a doll on the black market had been a bad idea from the start.

There were about fifteen minutes left before the performance. Jungkook was chatting with his colleagues, setting up the props, and when it came to the puppets, he picked up Taehyung. He turned him over with a familiar motion, checking for scratches and chips.

Taehyung didn't move, only watching the puppeteer from under half-lowered wooden eyelashes. But when he began to feel nauseous from this endless spinning, his patience snapped.

“I’m fine, stop spinning me,” the puppet grumbled discontentedly right in Jungkook’s hands.

He froze. Luckily, he didn't drop Taehyung, but his fingers involuntarily clenched. His brain refused to believe it: had he completely lost his mind from overwork or...

"What are you staring at?" the voice said again, this time even more irritated.

Jungkook shuddered as if he'd been electrocuted. He nearly threw the puppet back into the suitcase and stumbled back a couple of steps, staring wide-eyed at the wooden figurine.

“What the…” he took a ragged breath, trying to pull himself together, but his voice still broke mid-sentence. “…the hell?”
