Taehyung was wandering through the garden, admiring the delicate cherry blossoms, when one of the maids ran up to him. Her face was pale, her eyes full of terror. She was whispering something, hastily and haltingly, but one word pierced him: prison. Jungkook is in prison. Recognized.

The omega's heart sank so sharply that he momentarily caught his breath. He exhaled, trying to gather his thoughts, to come up with some kind of plan. He'd spent the rest of the day tense. He couldn't look his husband in the eye, he'd distanced himself from his son, he'd driven away the servants. Only one thing was running through his head: his samurai. Behind bars.

The clock struck three in the morning when Taehyung, unable to bear it any longer, leaped up and ran out of the house. The walk to the prison cells took no more than five minutes. He passed the half-asleep guards and ran to the right cell.

Jungkook sat on the cold stone floor, leaning against the wall. Hearing footsteps, he slowly looked up but didn't move. Seeing Taehyung, he only chuckled softly—the sound dry and lifeless.

Taehyung gripped the cold bars with his fingers, dropping to his knees.

“I’m so sorry, Jungkook...” his voice trembled, tears welled up in his eyes, but he clenched his teeth, not letting them break through. The samurai didn't answer, didn't even glance in his direction. This silence was even more devastating.

Then Taehyung reached for the heavy lock. His hands trembled, his fingers slipped over the cold metal, but he finally heard a click. The door creaked open.

Jungkook finally stirred. He slowly turned his head, and his eyes, tired and empty, showed nothing.

“Why?” it sounded cold and distant.
