Frog's Jealousy

Of all the Specters, Zelos has the most grotesque appearance. He possesses a particularly unpleasant physique and moves across the ground like a toad, although this does not prevent him from standing up or rising to fight. His face is deformed, making him look like a frog.

Zelos is described as a dark, sadistic, treacherous, cowardly, deceitful, and pathetic character. He apparently suffers from an inferiority complex that he expresses by attacking people much stronger than himself, but only when they are already dead or weak on the ground. He loves to sow discord and even to watch Rhadamanthys, his superior, tortured by Pandora.

Zelos first appears in Hades' Castle (Heinstein Castle), in the room of the Judge of Hell, Rhadamanthys of Wyvern, to whom he confirms the sending of a group of specters to the Sanctuary. Zelos asks him if that is correct, given what Pandora might think knowing they were sent without her permission. Rhadamanthys tells him he does so because he doesn't trust the resurrected saints. Zelos warns him that Pandora's fury is only comparable to her beauty. Later, Zelos informs Rhadamanthys that Athena slit her own throat with the dagger held by Saga of Gemini, and that all the specters sent to the Sanctuary were dead. Zelos asks Rhadamanthys if he should inform Pandora, and he tells him to shut up, that he will apologize personally to Pandora and arrange a meeting between her and him. When Pandora receives Rhadamanthys, Zelos gleefully watches as Pandora tortures him, although she eventually forgives him but makes things clear. Later, when Saga of Gemini, Camus of Aquarius, and Shura of Capricorn arrive at the castle with Athena's dead body, Pandora asks him to remove the sheet covering Athena's face, given their refusal to do so. When Zelos is about to remove the sheet, Saga throws it over him, revealing that Athena's body is not there, while Shura captures Pandora. Camus freezes Zelos with a single attack to prevent him from bothering them. Saga, Shura, and Camus lose their strength when sunlight enters through the skylight, and Pandora leaves, leaving Zelos in control of the castle. Zelos says he is now the owner of the castle, and Camus tells him that the castle is already lost, so Zelos begins to trample him.

At that moment, the glass shatters and Seiya of Pegasus, Shiryū of Dragon, Hyōga of Cygnus, and Shun of Andromeda enter the room. Zelos retreats, and a stone block from the castle falls on his head. Saga, Shura, and Camus ask them to save Athena as their bodies fade away. Afterwards, Hyōga tells Zelos that Camus was his master, and Zelos runs off to join Pandora, but Hyōga attacks him with the Execution of the Dawn, killing him. His frozen body falls into the pit leading to hell, shattering into pieces.
