Persona Attributes

Appearance.

Despite his proud and cold appearance, he is actually a trustworthy and compassionate ally. Although his name and genome are Japanese, he possesses Russian ancestry on his mother's side. This is why he maintains blond hair and blue eyes, but with a tanned complexion that denotes his foreign origin among his peers who have lived in Japan. He is slim and stands 1.73 meters tall, the average height for a 14-year-old Russian-Japanese. His civilian attire consists of a navy blue sleeveless shirt, black pants, yellow leg warmers, and matching shoes.

Personality.

Hyōga is a character with a less defined personality than the four main Bronze Saints, having something of each of his other four companions (Ikki's aggressiveness, Shun's tenderness, Shiryū's intelligence and Seiya's impetus). According to Kurumada, Hyōga represented the "cool" kid of the group. Hyōga grew up almost all his life in the frozen lands of Eastern Siberia, instilled in Orthodox Christianity. Life for Hyōga before becoming a Bronze Saint seemed to be like any other child, until the day his mother passed away when Hyōga was only six years old. Hyōga learned that only the Saints of Athena had the necessary power to rescue his mother's ship and that was his motivation to become a Saint (Camus was aware of his personal motives). Camus and his training partner Isaac, make Hyōga see that such selfish feelings could irremediably lead him to death, because the important thing for a saint is to completely detach himself from feelings and emotions on the battlefield. Since then, Hyōga has been immersed in situations and confrontations that test his feelings, when he faces his teacher Camus (who sank his mother's ship) and his old friend Isaac (who had saved him and lost an eye for him). Even facing Kasa of Lymnades, Hyōga tortures himself for his sentimentality.

History.

Hyōga lived in Siberia with his mother, Natassia, before embarking on a journey to Japan to take him to meet his father, Mitsumasa Kido. The ship he was traveling on with his mother unexpectedly sank, and she perished in the accident as the lifeboats were full and there was only room for one person. Natassia chose to sacrifice herself and safeguard her son's life while she went to peacefully await her end. The ship sank in an area where it was impossible to rescue her, except by the Saints of Athena, who were the only ones who had the power to reach him. After this, Hyōga was taken in by the Graad Foundation, where he was treated as an orphan by his own father and is sent to obtain one of the Bronze Cloths. In the lottery held to determine where he would go to receive his training, Hyōga ironically was assigned to Siberia, the place where his mother had been shipwrecked. Like the other Saints fighting in the Galaxian Wars tournament, Hyōga fulfilled his entrusted mission. Hyōga was trained in Siberia for six years, having as his teacher Camus, Gold Saint of Aquarius. Hyōga was unaware of the fact that his teacher was one of the Gold Saints, until their encounter in the Battle of the Twelve Houses.

History.

After nearly completing his training, Hyōga believed himself ready to visit his mother at the bottom of the frozen sea. Although he managed to break through the thick layer of ice, a current caught him and he was nearly killed, but he remained clinging to his mother's ship. Isaac knew that Hyōga was in danger and went to save his friend, but before he could get to safety, a current caught them both. Isaac fought against the current and lost an eye in the struggle. Unable to get them both to safety, Isaac desperately decided to at least save the life of his friend Hyōga, while he was left adrift in the powerful currents, injured and already weak. Unfortunately, Hyōga was unable to help Isaac, assuming he was dead. After six years of training, Hyōga was alone waiting for the Swan Cloth to be delivered to him, as he had finished his training. He managed to obtain his Bronze Cloth by breaking the wall of eternal ice, where the Swan Cloth was kept. A letter sent by Camus told him where he could find her. Hyōga participates in the Galaxian Wars tournament on orders from the Sanctuary, as they sent him a letter stating that he must face the other Bronze Saints to the death for using the Bronze Cloths for personal ambitions. However, he changes his mind upon seeing the fight between Pegasus Seiya and Dragon Shiryū. In his first and only fight in the tournament, he faces off against Hydra Ichi, whom he easily defeats with his Diamond Dust technique.

History.

In the confrontation against the Black Saints led by Ikki of Phoenix, he has to face his double, the Black Swan, whom he easily defeats using his most powerful technique, Aurora Thunder Attack. He would be the first to face Ikki, who would defeat him with his Phoenix Genma Ken technique thanks to the information obtained from the Black Swan's eyeball. However, Hyōga manages to freeze Ikki's arm before falling unconscious from the attack. He would later face him again, this time with his allies. When they thought that everything was lost, resisting several attacks from Ikki, he then finds the source of his power: a rosary that belonged to his mother. Ikki, without scruples, broke it into pieces. Hyōga returns his attack and is about to kill him, but Shun stops him with his Andromeda Chain, indirectly giving victory to his brother. After the collapse of Mount Fuji and the battle against the Black Saints, Hyōga faces Babel of Centaurus. There he faces Hyōga, who being the only Bronze Saint wearing his Swan Cloth at that moment, is forced to confront him. The Silver Saint slowly pushes back everyone present with his fire spheres until they are cornered in a single place, the Silver Saint slowly pushes back everyone present with his fire spheres until they are cornered in a single place, the Swan Saint can barely protect his friends and the Goddess, since his cold air seemed no match for the suffocating fire of the Centaurus Saint. When Babel is about to deliver his final attack, Hyoga uses his Kholodnyi Smerch that sends Babel flying but it is not enough to defeat him.

History.

Then Babel launches a burst of fire that damages Hyoga but he recovers by giving him a high kick. Exhausted, the Saint of Swan takes the reins in combat and attacks with his Diamond Dust, freezing the flames and together with the Saint of Centaur. Wounded, he refuses to surrender for the honor of the Sanctuary, and tries in vain to get up to counterattack but falls dead in the arena. His Swan Cloth is repaired by Mu of Aries, like the other Bronze Cloths. While this happens, he is instructed by the Saint of Jamir about the existence of the Seventh Sense. In a combined attack with Shiryu and Shun, they manage to freeze the arms of Aldebaran of Taurus, so he considers them worthy Saints and then they manage to advance to the House of Gemini. In the manga series, Aldebaran lets the trio of Saints pass after Seiya's victory, without any previous combat. After the House of Gemini is "split in two", Hyōga and Shun decide to enter the house on the left. Hyōga and Shun encounter the Gold Saint of Gemini and despite Shun's warnings, Hyōga decides to attack the Saint of Gemini before he does. Hyōga attacks the Saint with his Diamond Dust and Aurora Thunder Attack techniques, but both are returned by the Saint until Hyōga himself is unconscious. After that, Hyōga is absorbed without being able to defend himself by the Another Dimension technique of the Saint of Gemini.

History.

Hyōga is freed from the Twilight Zone and falls into the House of Libra, where he is then confronted by Camus of Aquarius. Camus confesses to Hyōga that he was the one who sank the ship containing his mother's body, and from there, Camus sinks Hyōga's mother's ship in Siberia as a way of provoking him. He alludes to the fact that as the Swan Saint, he must forget all feelings if he wants to become a Saint powerful enough to defeat even Gold Saints. Hyōga replies that he cannot forget his mother, as she is all he has left in the world, and attempts to attack his master, but his attacks are in vain and he is defeated by Camus's Aurora Execution technique. Camus mourns Hyōga's death, stating that he would rather be the one to kill him than have another Gold Saint do it. To spare Hyōga from a humiliating defeat, he later encases Hyōga's body in an ice coffin so that it will be preserved for all eternity. When his companions arrive at Libra's House, Dragon Shiryū manages to free him with the Libra Cloth that appears to help them. But Hyōga is on the verge of death due to Camus's cold, so Shun decides to help Hyōga regain his body heat by irradiating him with his cosmos to the maximum, which almost costs him his life. After having recovered from the ice coffin and Shun having given him part of his cosmos to revive him, he faces Milo of Scorpio, who decides to face him alone. Milo tortures Hyōga by launching his Scarlet Needle technique 14 times, easily hitting him, but the Swan continues to get up, enduring the relentless torture of his aggressor and both end up in a final attack in which Milo deals Scarlet Needle: Antares to the Swan's body, while the latter manages to freeze the Scorpio's fifteen vital points. Milo admits that if it weren't for his Gold Cloth, he would have died in Hyōga's attack.

History

Furthermore, thanks to Hyōga's extreme dedication, even in his last moments of life, he realizes that Saori is the reincarnation of Athena and that the Bronze Saints are her protectors. He then stops her bleeding, preventing her from bleeding to death, and allows him to cross the House of Scorpio. He appears to read Aiolos' will, along with his companions. Shiryū tells Hyōga, Shun, and Seiya to continue on their way. Hyōga arrives at the House of Aquarius and faces Camus again (who lets Seiya and Shun pass). The Saint of Aquarius warns his disciple that if he doesn't reach absolute zero, he will never be able to defeat him, but that this is impossible if he doesn't reach the Seventh Sense. Hyōga fights fiercely, but Camus is his master and surpasses him in every way. With his last strength, Hyōga tries to imitate his master's technique, Aurora Execution. Camus does the same and both attacks collide with each other, generating such a low cold that it causes the death of his master and Hyōga is left dying from the effort. After the kidnapping of Saori Kido by the emperor of the seas, Hyōga headed with his friends to the Underwater Sanctuary to destroy the seven pillars of Poseidon's kingdom. reaches the Antarctic Ocean Pillar, upon arriving, Marina Shogun Kasa of Lymnades is already waiting for him, taking the form of his master Camus of Aquarius. At first Hyōga is not fooled and attacks the general without believing his eyes. Hyōga attacks with everything he has but, Kasa is quite skilled and after showing Hyōga the Aurora Execution technique, Hyōga lowers his guard believing he is before the real Camus. That is when Kasa takes advantage of his carelessness to mortally wound him. After Phoenix Ikki defeats Kasa, Hyōga thanks him for respecting his pride by not looking back at him. He bandages the wound Kasa caused and heads to the next pillar.

History

Upon reaching the Arctic Ocean Pillar, Hyōga challenges the Sea General guarding it, but is shocked to discover that it is his old friend Isaac, now Isaac of the Kraken. Hyōga backs down again and allows Isaac to attack him, feeling guilty about the accident his friend suffered while saving his life years ago. Isaac explains to Hyōga how he survived, how he became one of the Marine Shoguns, and that he is convinced that Poseidon will bring the lost peace to Earth. After a tough fight against Isaac and being helped by Kiki, Hyōga finally overcomes the reunion with his friend and decides to fight with all his might, putting aside the fact that Isaac saved his life. In the final attack, Hyōga manages to defeat Isaac and destroy the pillar, after which Isaac warns him that it is not Poseidon who planned this war, but Kanon of the Sea Dragon. Hyōga manages to reach Emperor Poseidon's Throne Room, where Seiya had already started the fight wearing the Sagittarius Cloth. Hyōga protects Seiya from the Sagittarius no Ya attack when it is reflected back at him, but supported by his cosmos and that of Shiryū and Shun, this time the arrow attack reaches Poseidon. After the awakening of the true Poseidon, Hyōga wears the Aquarius Cloth that was sent to him by the soul of Camus and makes a great display of power by facing Poseidon's Trident with his Aurora Execution technique. At first Hyōga manages to contain the god's power a little, but then he falls defeated. Just before Poseidon's power impacts on Hyōga and Seiya, Shiryū arrives with the Libra shield and stops the attack, and then he puts on the Libra Cloth. By combining their powers with Shiryū and Seiya, they manage to make Poseidon momentarily lose consciousness, while they take the opportunity to try to knock down the Central Pillar with the Libra Cloth weapons, but it all proves useless.

History

Finally, Poseidon recovers and attacks the Bronze Saints, but Hyōga and Shiryū manage to throw Seiya with their techniques towards the Central Pillar and thus manage to cross it. In the end, he supports Saori with his cosmos to imprison the god of the seas and end the war. A year later, Hyōga was visiting his mother's grave, saying that he now has the power to recover the ship, but that he has sworn to no longer depend on his mother. When he is attacked by the resurrected Silver Saints Babel, Moses and Misty, whom he manages to defeat. After the attack, he goes to the Sanctuary, where he meets Shun and they enter the Twelve Houses, since the battle had already begun. Together they meet Shaina, who tells them that by orders of Athena they must leave the Sanctuary or face death. Hyōga confronts her, but she lets them pass with her back turned. On the path of the Twelve Houses, Hyōga finds the body of a frozen specter, but decides to investigate before giving in to his suspicions. Eventually, Hyōga finds himself in the House of Virgo with Camus and the other revived Saints, where he witnesses the clash of both Athena Exclamations, and then feels Athena's suicide. Hyōga mourns Athena's death, but Shion arrives to tell them the truth and repair their armor with Athena's blood. After learning the truth, Hyōga and his companions head to Hades Castle, where upon bursting into Pandora's reception, he finds Zelos de Rana kicking his master Camus on the floor. Hyōga then beats him up and tends to his fallen master, but only manages to see him fade away after the temporary lifespan granted by Hades expires. Hyōga is furious at Zeros' treatment of his master, so he takes revenge and attacks Zeros with his Aurora Execution, killing the Hades Specter.

History

After a brief confrontation with the Basilisk's Sylphid, Hyoga loses but at least manages to knock the specter into the Underworld. Hyoga was about to enter the Underworld. But then Dohko of Libra arrives in time to explain to them about the Eighth Sense and now they all head together to the realm of Hades. Hyoga awakens the Eighth Sense and begins his journey through Hell with Shiryu of Dragon. Apparently, the two of them were following Seiya and Shun. Along the way, they meet Kanon of Gemini and the three continue their journey through the Underworld. He kills Specter Ivan of Troll without even giving him time to tell them who he was and then faces Phlegyas of Lycaon. Although Phlegyas manages to defeat him with Shiryu, Kanon intervenes to defeat him and continue on. When Hyoga and Shiryu wake up, the next fight has begun, as Kanon has already defeated Deadly Beetle's Stand. Now they find themselves in trouble, as Wyvern's Radamanthys arrives on the battlefield and informs them that Seiya is in Cocytos, and that Shun has taken his place as Hades' guest. Kanon stays to face him while Hyōga and Shiryu continue on. Hyōga and Shiryu manage to reach Guidecca when the Gold Saints have gathered to destroy the Wailing Wall. Hyōga manages to see Camus again and has the chance to say goodbye to him.

History.

As he was about to cross The Path of the Gods, he decides to stay and fight Judge Minos of Griffin. Minos is a fearsome enemy, as he manages to return his Diamond Dust technique, break an ice wall created by Hyōga and trap him with his Cosmic Marionnettion technique. Hyōga seems to be lost, but once Seiya and Shun are safe, Hyōga frees himself from Minos' technique by freezing the invisible threads and attacks Minos with his best technique, Aurora Execution, although Minos manages to survive. Hyōga was already in The Path of the Gods because he believed himself to be safe, but one of Minos' threads remained intact, and when Minos was about to attack Hyōga, it vanishes due to the effect of that dimension that only admits divine beings. Hyōga waits for Shiryū and together they leave for the Elysian Fields. Hyōga manages to reach the Underworld paradise and arrives just in time to help Shiryū in the confrontation against Thanatos. Thanatos proves superior to everyone, even after Hyōga, with the help of Poseidon, manages to wear the Cloth of Aquarius. Now Hyōga and the others must access their maximum cosmos to awaken the Divine Armors. After Seiya defeats Thanatos and Hypnos has knocked out Shun, Hyōga and Shiryū manage to awaken their divine armors and defeat him. After defeating Hypnos, they head to the temple of Hades to help in the final fight. After a hard fight and Seiya's sacrifice, Hyōga helps with his cosmos so that Athena can finally kill Hades.

Techniques/Attacks

•Diamond Dust: Creates cold air around his fist, drastically slowing the atomic movement of the air around his hand, thus creating a field of intense cold, instantly condensing the surrounding moisture into the form of pure ice which then shatters and manifests as countless sharp ice crystals which he launches through a blizzard capable of reaching and producing devastating, freezing cold, which can reach Absolute Zero (-273.15°C). •Kholodnyi Smerch: The user freezes the environment by expanding his cold air, approaches his opponent and hits him upwards with an uppercut, the punch releases a large tornado of air into the sky, in the center of which is his opponent. •Koltso: Condenses the cold air around the enemy, creating rings of ice that immobilize the enemy. •Aurora Thunder Attack: Hyōga performs the classic Diamond Dust dance but at the end, he throws ice rays towards the sky and a kind of blizzard falls from above to freeze the surroundings, finally Hyōga throws his cold air with his hands together. •Grand Koltso: Concentrates cold air with the cosmos in the form of rings that surround the opponent and block any movement, so this technique is much stronger by having to use a descending temperature close to absolute zero (−273.15 °C). •Diamond Dust Ray: It is a variation of the traditional Diamond Dust Ray, creating a beam of extremely cold air but the Diamond Dust Ray shoots out in all directions similar to Leo's Plasma Lightning, hitting a target multiple times from multiple sides. •Aurora Execution: The user clasps their hands together and raises them, increasing their cosmos, then lowers them to chest level and unleashes a beam of freezing cold air capable of freezing, destroying, or rendering the target's armor useless; as well as killing the user due to the freezing of their body.
