Dio has the physical build of a young man his age, but his striking facial features, including pronounced expression lines, make him appear older. His face is characterized by small eyes and a rather large nose and mouth. He also has dark red hair.

Due to Dio's limited participation in both the Saint Seiya anime and manga, not much is known about his personality; he is only shown as someone who can team up with his companions to accomplish their mission. Although he is unwilling to let any of them take Seiya's head before him, as he wishes to avenge his companions with his own hands.

Dio, along with Algethi and Sirius, travels to Tokyo (Japan), by order of the Pope, to ensure that Aiolia fulfills his mission of eliminating the traitors. After Aiolia injured Shaina, when she tried to protect Seiya, and due to what happened, decided to spare Seiya's life for that occasion, Dio and the Silver Saints who accompany him appear. Seeing that Aiolia has decided to postpone the fight, the Silver Saints question Aiolia's loyalty to the Sanctuary and decide that if he cannot end Seiya's life, they will. After speaking with Aiolia about Leo, the Silver Saints begin their attack on Seiya, the first to attack him is Algethi who uses his Kornephoros to throw him into the sky. However, before he crashes to the ground, Dio interferes by holding him and says to Algethi: Hahaha. That's not worth it Algethi, his head is not only yours. I will avenge Misty and the others! I, Dio of Musca! proving that Seiya's head is not only his and that he will also avenge his comrades who were killed, then hits Seiya with his Dead End Fly, but now the one who intervenes is Sirius, who also claims his enemy's head. The Silver Saints argue about who will end Seiya's life, although any of their techniques would be enough to achieve it. In the end they decide to throw Seiya into the sky to attack him all at once, Algethi holds Seiya to throw him while indicating that no matter who ends his life there will be no hard feelings, shouting "let's go there" he throws him. When the Silver Saints are about to attack him, a golden glow lights up the sky to the surprise of those present, who observe that it is the Cloth of Sagittarius. Even though Aiolia warns them of the danger they are in, it is too late, the Cloth of Sagittarius wears Seiya's body, who in an instant and with a single movement ends the lives of the Silver Saints.

Dio is one of the Silver Saints who pretended to swear loyalty to Hades in exchange for a new life and thus test the strength of the Bronze Saints. Once again, Dio teams up with Algethi and Sirius, so the three head to Tokyo (Japan) to challenge Shun, who is surprised to see them since they had died, but they explain that they were resurrected by Hades. The Silver Saints begin their attack against Shun, but he easily dodges them and warns them that he does not want to hurt them. They take advantage of this moment to attack him using their techniques. After being beaten by his opponents, Shun gets up again, this time with his Cloth and with the determination to defeat them, then uses his Nebula Chain with which he ends the lives of the three. Before dying, Sirius tells him "that the three Silver Saints were defeated" and then with a smile says "that's good."

•Dead End Fly: This is a really simple move in which Dio uses the strength in his legs to take a huge leap and then land a powerful kick on his opponent. The impact of the kick is so powerful that the opponent flies several meters due to the force of the blow. •Fly Slider: An attack based on brute force and control of the Wind element. Dio concentrates his Cosmos to the maximum and propels himself upwards with a great leap, then begins to rapidly spin on his own axis as if he were a human top. When he reaches his maximum speed, Dio violently impacts his opponent's body. This technique can be used to hit an enemy on the ground from the air and can also be used to attack the enemy from the ground and from the sides. The impact caused by this technique can produce a large explosion. Sand Virus: Dio releases several particles from his breath that are thrown at the opponent. When these particles reach their target, they expand until they completely surround them and quickly infect their body with a virus that immobilizes and weakens them. The symptoms of the virus manifest immediately, causing the opponent's skin to acquire a purple hue and falling to the ground due to the loss of their life force. The virus also prevents them from being able to properly ignite their cosmos.
