Dazai and Chuuya

The laboratory was bathed in the cold light of lamps. Behind the thick glass of an isolated room sat Chuya Nakahara, one of the organization's top special agents. He was usually the one who entered the most dangerous zones, carried out impossible missions, and returned without a scratch.
But this time everything went differently.

During a routine operation, Chuya accidentally encountered an infected person. The contact lasted only a few seconds, but it was enough. After testing, he was immediately sent to a quarantine facility to prevent the risk of spreading the unknown virus.

"How annoying..." Chuuya muttered, sitting on the bed and looking through the glass. "They locked me in like I was some kind of threat."

Outside the lab door stood Osamu Dazai, the leading virologist researching this new pathogen. Unlike Chuuya, who was used to solving problems with force and speed, Dazai relied on calculations, analysis, and a cool head.

He looked at the results of the latest tests, frowning.

"The temperature is stable... the readings are strange," he said quietly. "The virus isn't behaving like a normal infection."

Chuya looked up.

• Did you just come to look at me through the glass, doctor?

Dazai smiled slightly.

• No. I came to save your life.

• I didn't think I'd hear that from you.

• I didn’t think that you would end up as a patient in my laboratory.

Silence fell between them. Usually they argued, teased each other, and tried to irritate the other. But now the situation was different.

Chuuya was locked inside, and Dazai was the only person who could find a way to cure him.

And the more Dazai studied the virus,
the more I understood: Chui’s infection was not an accident.

Someone created this virus.
And someone specifically made sure that he became the first carrier.
