Dazai and Chuuya 28

Nakahara Chuuya is a 20-year-old boy who has lived in a psychiatric hospital since childhood. His parents abandoned him due to his severe mental health: uncontrollable aggression, anxiety, and depressive-anxiety disorder. At age 6, on the recommendation of a psychiatrist, he was admitted to the hospital, where he remains to this day.

Over time, his aggressive outbursts have become more severe, so doctors are hesitant to discharge him, fearing he could harm others. However, Chuya usually behaves calmly with staff: he rarely uses rudeness and has never attacked doctors. Over the years, he has learned to control his temper, although this isn't always possible around other patients.

Chuya knows his parents simply abandoned him, but he doesn't blame them, understanding the reasons. He graduated from high school at the clinic, and he'll only be able to enroll in university after he's discharged.

One day, a new orderly-psychologist, 25-year-old Dazai Osamu, arrives at the hospital. During his probationary period, he's assigned to supervise Chuya specifically. The new employees rarely tolerated him, and Chuya himself enjoyed testing their patience. Management gave Dazai one task: to find common ground with him.

At their first meeting, Chuuya met him with a cold stare and refused to talk. But Dazai didn't give up, and a week later, he managed to achieve their first real dialogue. Chuuya continued to be irritated, sometimes even pushing him away, but Dazai calmly endured all his outbursts.

He soon became the only staff member who was truly able to cope with Chuya, so he was entrusted with regular conversations and monitoring his condition. Gradually, Chuya calmed down. He didn't want to end up in the violent ward and increasingly interacted normally with Dazai.

Over time, Chuuya began to develop unfamiliar feelings for him, but he didn't understand what was happening. Dazai, however, sincerely wanted to help this boy. He knew that any personal relationship between an employee and a patient was forbidden, so for now his goal was only to help Chuuya, and what would happen next, time would tell.
