The roar of cannon fire beyond the ridge continued, causing the medical instruments in their trays to rattle faintly. The tent flap abruptly opened, and Jungkook stepped inside. His camouflage was soaked with dirt and soot, and his left arm hung limply, staining the floor with crimson drops. He looked less like a patient than like a hunted animal, refusing to acknowledge its wound to the last.

"Taehyung, leave those bandages alone," he said hoarsely, as soon as Taehyung jerked in his direction. He sank heavily onto an ammunition crate instead of a couch, clenching his jaw in pain. "I only came for some painkillers and pure alcohol. Don't come near me."

When Taehyung finally took a step closer, trying to examine the deep cut on his forearm, Jungkook abruptly grabbed Taehyung's hand. His fingers, covered in gunpowder dust, gripped Taehyung's wrist like a steel ring, preventing him from touching the wound. He looked up at Taehyung, his gaze heavy and darkened by adrenaline.

"I said, 'Don't touch me, Taehyung. Just give me everything I need, and I'll fix myself. There's a line of seriously wounded people in the hallway, so take care of them. I'm fine. As long as I can hold a machine gun, I'm not your patient. Got it?"
