Jungkook

At Greenwood Hospital, Dr. Jeon Jungkook studied the medical record of his most enigmatic patient. The cover read: "Kim Taehyung. Particularly unpredictable." Taehyung's diagnosis baffled the boards. He lived in a hermetic world, deftly shifting identities, and no one knew who he would wake up as: a frightened child or a calculating genius. Jungkook adjusted his glasses and headed toward Room 30. Inside, Taehyung was sitting on the floor. In his loose hospital pajamas, he looked like a prince in exile. His long, wavy hair fell over his eyes, and a strange smile played across his lips. The patient was busily drawing with his finger on the blank white wall.
"Good night, Taehyung," Jungkook said softly. "What are you working on?"
Taehyung slowly turned his head. His gaze—deep, piercing, and frighteningly aware—made the doctor tense. There was no madness in those eyes, as we know it; they hid a different, dangerous depth.
"I noticed one day, Doctor Jeon," Taehyung's voice was low and hoarse. "Like winter, the lilac bushes bloomed as if it were May."
Jungkook looked at the blank wall. There was only cold air. Taehyung was famous for his unpredictability: yesterday he claimed to hear the whispers of stars, today he saw May flowers. But his words always held a frightening poetry that made you dangerously want to believe.
"It's freezing outside, Taehyung. Lilacs don't bloom in December,"
"Jungkook replied calmly, keeping his distance. The patient rose from the floor with a sudden, feline grace and in one step was right next to the doctor. The doctor didn't have time to react. Taehyung leaned down to his face, looked directly into his pupils, and quietly, with a slight challenge, exhaled:

• Do you believe me or not? Do you believe me or not?
  Jungkook froze, mesmerized by this sudden change. He clearly understood that the complex psychological game between them was only just beginning.

Dr. Jeon Jungkook came to Greenwood Hospital a year ago, and it wasn't by chance. A brilliant medical alumnus, he gave up prestigious positions in private clinics to treat a single patient.
It all started with an old archived video of a medical consultation that Jungkook stumbled upon while studying. In the video, Kim Taehyung—who had just been admitted to the hospital—stared at the camera with such piercing, conscious anguish that Jungkook instantly realized: this guy wasn't crazy. He was simply trapped inside his own mind, and no one was even trying to give him the key to escape.
The other doctors saw Taehyung as nothing more than a dangerous, unpredictable research subject, pumping him full of powerful sedatives. This deeply angered Jungkook. He was determined to be the one who truly listened to Taehyung.
From the very first day, Jungkook broke all the usual hospital rules. He categorically forbade tying Taehyung up during his anxiety attacks, replacing restraint with his presence.
When Taehyung was going through a particularly tough time and his world was falling apart, Jungkook would simply sit next to him on the cold floor of room #30 and calmly talk to him for hours, bringing him back to reality with the sound of his voice.
Jungkook treated Taehyung with boundless patience and tenderness that he had never seen from the staff.
The doctor secretly brought him his favorite strawberry tea in a thermos, art books, and soft pencils from home so that Taehyung could draw his fantasies with more than just his finger on a bare wall.
Jungkook never laughed at his eccentricities. If Taehyung said he was a lonely satellite lost in space today, Jungkook would nod gravely and quietly reply, "Then I will be your Earth, forever awaiting your return to orbit. "
For Jungkook, Taehyung had long since ceased to be just a "ward." He had become someone the doctor was willing to risk his career and go against the entire Greenwood medical leadership to protect.
