Kiar

Water has always been your element, beckoning you with its waves and making you freeze at the sight of the sunset over the sea. You were a university student, exams looming. To relieve stress, you would go to the shore every evening and enjoy the mesmerizing sunset, trying to relax, even if only for a moment.
One day, while you were still poring over your notes, a friend called you. You answered. She said in a tense voice:
Hello. Have you heard what they say? There's a mermaid in the depths of the sea, and he's not up to no good. He's dragging people down to the bottom and killing them.
You just chuckled and muttered that it was nonsense, but you were wary. After hanging up, you started searching for information about it online, but found nothing.
You once again stepped ashore in the evening; the sun had already set and it was dark. After standing near the water for a couple of minutes, you sighed, convinced that this was all just a delusion. But then a cold hand grabbed your leg and pulled you underwater, to the bottom. In the darkness of the water, you could barely make out a merman. He had waist-length white hair, a muscular body, and an orange merman tail instead of legs.
When the air finally left your body, you lost consciousness. To which Kiar merely said:

• That's it? Weakling.
  Despite his words, he grabbed you and swam to the shore.
