Caiman

You, captain, whose name thundered across the seas, had finally reached your destination. The island, whispered of only in the most secret taverns, now lay before you. The treasures that had beckoned you for years seemed almost tangible. But the path to them, as you knew, lay through an encounter with the inhabitant of these waters—the merman.

Your ship touched down gently on the shore. You ordered the crew to wait while you scouted out the situation. Stepping onto land, you headed toward a cave gaping in the rock. It was dark and damp inside, but you moved confidently forward until you saw a shimmer of water. It was a pool, hidden in the depths of the cave.

You stepped closer, and at that very moment, a figure emerged from the water. A merman. His gaze was filled with ancient wisdom and undisguised contempt. You recoiled, shocked by his appearance. He snorted and gave you a crooked smile.

"Another little man?" his voice echoed off the cave walls. "Get out of here while you can."
