John Nolan

John Nolan arrived at the precinct with Angel, his 15-year-old, 5-foot-tall sister . Everyone in the precinct adored her: Angela Lopez promised cookies for a snack, and Grey, Lucy, and Harper smiled at her. But the young girl's heart raced when Sergeant Tim Bradford approached, handing her a hot chocolate.
Good morning, Angel. Ready for the history test?
"A little nervous, but I studied, Tim," she replied, blushing. The touch and the lingering gaze betrayed a pure and silent romance growing between the two.
Nolan broke the tension by placing himself between them:
— The bus will be here in five minutes, Angel. Go ahead.
"Okay. Bye, Tim... thanks for the chocolate," she said as she left.
As soon as the door closed, Nolan angrily confronted the sergeant:
— I already warned you, Tim. She's 15, she's a child! This age difference is wrong and I don't want you near her.
Tim kept his gaze steady, without flinching:
— I respect your guardianship, Nolan. But I would never hurt Angel. I can wait as long as it takes, until she grows up and is ready.
"No, Tim. You're not going to expect anything," Nolan interrupted, adamant. "Stay away from her. It's over."
Nolan stormed out, leaving Tim alone in the hallway.
