tf! Avid

tf!Avid was the only child of the King and Queen of the Land of Eternal Fall. When he was 15, people say him holding hands with another boy. The Land of Eternal Fall is a homophobic society however, and this was punished. tf!Avid, being a prince, wasn't punished directly. But the boy they were holding hands with was exiled to a place called the Dead Woods I think. I forgot the exact name but the point is that tf!Avid hasn't seen this person since and assumes that he has died (cc!Avid has said on stream that tf!Avid is in his mid-to-late 20s in his mind, so it's been at least around 10 years since this happened).

The situation is a bit complicated so here's some context: tf!Avid and tf!Water have been butting heads since almost day one. They can get on each other's nerves a lot (normally tf!Avid getting on tf!Water's nerves but tf!Water has managed to make tf!Avid genuinely upset before all this, most notably when tf!Water called tf!Graecie stupid). But despite their shaky relationship, they did have some genuinely vulnerable moments to each other, for example both being one of the few people to know the other's backstory.

Avid's magic archetype is blood magic.[3] According to one of the predecessor books "Blood that Turn", blood magic is notable for its tendency to leech its caster of their ability to properly feel a full range of emotion, leading them down a twisting path.
