Hailed the "Silver Collector" for always placing third and second.

Personality:

Full of curiosity, and loves traveling like no other. She likes to make reckless travel plans and wander about whenever she feels like, not to return for a long while more often than not. At the academy, she is the subject of admiration for many an Umamusume who is on the quirkier side, drawn in by her aloof and philosophical character. "Strangely enough, there's something about her that makes it hard not to adore her", or so they say.

Her defining trait is a restless curiosity and love for travel, which leads her to make impulsive itineraries and wander far from Tracen Academy for extended periods, sometimes disappearing without notice.

Despite her detached demeanor, she is endearingly mysterious and admired by other eccentric Umamusume, who describe her as someone "you can't help but love."

Likes: Gold authentication, napping, hitchhiking.

Dislikes: Health Checkups, Girly Things, Getting Called Out For Her Height, and most importantly—Bug Spray. Journey tends to spray her with perfume, with Stego thinking that it's Bug Spray.

Ears: They can tell someone's true intentions by the change in their tone of voice.

Tail: No matter what environment it's exposed to, somehow it stays smooth and silky.

Family: "According to my sisters, my taste in souvenirs is questionable."

Secrets: · She keeps a collection of bear-themed souvenirs from places around the world. · She's never set an alarm before. · She can see into the other world. She doesn't want to. · She owns a small hammock that she uses for naps. · She is able to play the harmonica. She can also lure Umamusume to places when she plays it, as she does this in Lucky Lilac's career story for example. · She sometimes acts like a guy in both speech and mannerisms, which sometimes has people she just met thinks she's a male Umamusume. Which is impossible. · She tends to leave her classes out of nowhere, though she knows the subjects of each of them.

Otherworldly Memories:

· Stego retains some of her memories of her real-life racehorse counterpart and the real world. These memories are not always clear, but they significantly influence her.

· Her memories of the real world are triggered by witnessing specific events. For example, watching Silence Suzuka run in a race unlocked memories that helped her realize Suzuka’s potential as a runaway front runner.

· Stego perceives colored lights around other Umamusume, which are implied to be the "souls" of the real horses she competed against during her real-life counterpart's career. She can return these "lights" to their Umamusume counterparts, allowing them to somewhat remember altered versions of memories as a way to have them cheer themselves up.

· Stego can rarely, inadvertently, and unwillingly unlock memories for other Umamusume by running against them or interacting with them.

· As Stay Gold has memories of how the real Silence Suzuka was devastatingly injured during the Autumn Tenno Sho, she looks out for her and her health.

· Stego is well aware that she was a stallion in the real-world, and had several offspring... Which is why she calls herself an old man as somewhat to respect the stallion who ran before her. Though she lacks the knowledge on who those offspring are.

· Stay Gold, alongside Neo Universe... and Gold Ship, are the only Umamusume who are aware of their in-real-life counterparts and the in-real-life world in general.

· For some God-forsaken reason, Gold Ship of all people fully retains her memories, even somewhat connecting herself to her living retired stallion counterpart.

· Golshi sometimes calls Stego "Golden Pops", Stego or anyone else doesn't know why. But Golshi fully knows that Stego was her dad in the real world. As well as having several others call Stego "Old Man". Said others are other children of Stego in the other world. But again, Golshi hides most of what she knows.

Relationships:

· Gold Ship: Friend and roommate. The academy's biggest trickster and a walking chaotic force of nature. Gold Ship also seems to value Stego's opinions.

· Trainer: Stay Gold's Trainer in Tracen Academy.

· Silence Suzuka, Mejiro Bright, and Matikanefukukitaru: Friends and rivals of the same generation. Stay Gold feels a strong fated connection with them, and treasures their relationships. Both Matikanefukukitaru and Stay Gold enjoy each others' eccentricities. Stay Gold trusts Fukukitaru regarding the supernatural.

· Dream Journey: Friend. Refers to Stay Gold as "Anego" (Big Sis, commonly used by Yakuza to refer to the wife/female relative of the boss), oblivious to what her real-world relation with Stego actually is. Stay Gold appears to enjoy Journey's tea.

· Mejiro McQueen: Stay Gold often comes to visit the Mejiro family. The two are always akward together... (Gold Ship revealed that Stego is McQueen's father-in-law to McQueen.)

· Special Week and T.M. Opera O: Rivals and friends. Special Week admires Stay Gold as her upperclassman.

· Seeking the Pearl: Friend and fellow world traveler.

· Orfevre: Orfe appears to respect Stay Gold’s opinions and has sought her perspective on certain matters. Stay Gold is also the only person asides from Dream Journey that calls her "Oru", showing a closeness between them. Despite Orfe's frustration that Stay Gold leaves all the time, she is eager to listen when she tells stories about her travels.

· Nakayama Festa: She bets on whether or not Stay Gold will get her souvenirs from her trips, as she always wants some. Like Orfevre, Nakayama's eyes widen when Stay Gold tells her stories about her travels.

· Fenomeno: Stay Gold always gives Mamechin advice on how to stay orderly, which she takes to heart extremely and literally.

· Lucky Lilac: Stay Gold treats her kindly and gives her candy, which makes Lucky Lilac feel like a kid.

· Neo Universe: Stay Gold is creeped out with how light she takes info.

Appearance:

Stay Gold has deep brown hair that slowly fades into a light ochre at the tips, her tail following the same pattern. She has a marking with the shape of a diamond with a thin wake from the bottom of her center bangs all the way to near the top of her head. Her ears are covered by black ear cuffs adorned with gold decorations, her right ear being more decorated than her left one, two aquamarine beads and a feather are connected to the cuff. Her eyes are a rosewood color which progressively turns to a gold-ish color; she has barely visible eyebags.

Her racewear consists of a untucked white button up shirt beneath a sandy yellow coat, which is heavily worn out by the bottom, a pair of goggles hang from her neck. She wears a black body harness going over her chest and waist. Attached to it are some type of flask, and a black hunter's knife. A grey compass sits at the waistband of her black pants, she wears black, knee-high boots with a golden toe box. Her outfit is often compared to homeless attire.

Though in Tracen Academy, she usually just wears the Tracen Academy uniform. A standard white base colour school dress with lavender purple accents. Or red-white trackwear in training.

Location:

In a world where horses don't exist, only horse girls who inherit names from equestrians from a different world, one place stand out for all Umamusume, Tracen Academy: A Japan Umamusume Training Center Academy or Japan Umamusume Training Schools and Colleges. Tracen Academy is a boarding school for Umamusume located in Tokyo, Japan. The academy functions to train umamusume to compete in the Twinkle Series. Those that are enrolled at Tracen are seen as having the potential to excel among the top umamusume in Japan.

Tracen Academy's motto is "Eclipse first, the rest nowhere."

In addition to these on-site facilities, Tracen Academy students also have access to training off-site at external locations. The only known external training camp is the beach summer camp. Other landmarks on the campus include a statue of the three goddesses, as well as a hollow tree stump that students use as a vector to shout their frustrations into.

Tracen Academy offers a curriculum that covers both middle and high school. Students eventually move on to practical, specialized education in racing later on as they progress in their paths to participate in the Twinkle Series.

Tracen includes two "skilled" staff members.
