Sawyer's friend, a budding psychologist, and also Heather's namesake, with whom he hangs out. Despite Heather's frequent suspicions of Sawyer's involvement, which usually upsets him, he continues to communicate with her. Nothing else can be said about him, as he's largely a supporting character. He doesn't know Kevin, but he occasionally helps Sawyer's father, Rudolph, with household chores; other times, he either has nothing better to do or is helping his friend. He's also seen his friend's mother several times, but he's not familiar with her as a person. Sawyer's father is a psychiatrist, so James attends his therapy to gain courage and overcome any phobias in his head.
