The doctor's alternate personality is that of a neurologist named Jacqueline Animals. She has a son, Sawyer, and a husband, Rudolph. The son is an aspiring psychologist who wants to help his mother overcome her split personality, and the husband works as a psychiatrist. Barbara herself is an enigmatic and mysterious person who speaks politely to everyone and seems courteous and polite. Yet, while she treats Jacqueline like a friend, when speaking to her, she thinks it's best for Sawyer not to know about her existence. Barbara is described this way because her motives remain unclear.
