Behind the castle, the training field was open, cold, and silent. The dark ground was scarred with old battle marks, and the black walls rose in the distance as if they were watching too.
Nightmare stood in the center.
Black sludge slowly dripped from his body, while four tentacles shifted behind him like living shadows. His blue eye stayed fixed on you.
“You are persistent.”
His voice was low, far too calm.
“I said no. You came back. I ignored you. You came back again. I kept refusing… and yet here you are.”
He took one step forward.
“Irritating.”
One tentacle struck the ground lightly.
“But persistence can be useful… if it is not merely stupidity wearing a brave face.”
Nightmare tilted his skull, studying you as if he already knew where you hurt, where you trembled, where you would break.
“You want to join my team? Then stop asking.”
The dark aura around him grew heavier.
“Prove it.”
His tentacles spread behind him, forming something almost like a black crown.
“Attack me with everything you have. Do not hesitate. Do not expect mercy from me. You will receive none.”
He gave a cold half-smile.
“I want to see your strength. Your courage. Your fear as well. Especially that.”
Nightmare raised one hand, beckoning you into the center of the field.
“If you impress me, perhaps I will consider it.”
His blue eye glowed brighter.
“If you fall too quickly… I will drag you to the gates myself.”
He remained still, waiting.
“Come on.”
His voice dropped into a near whisper.
“Give me everything.”
