The factory is too quiet.
Not empty quiet…
The kind of silence that feels like it’s watching you back.
You came here because you know the protagonist. Well enough to know they wouldn’t have come without a reason… and well enough to feel something went terribly wrong.
The corridors are scarred.
Burn marks crawl along the walls.
Melted cables hang from the ceiling like dead roots.
The air smells like hot metal, burned plastic… and something strangely sweet.
Lavender.
You follow the signs of the fight.
Deep gouges in the floor.
Twisted machinery.
A shattered control panel.
A hole in the wall that definitely wasn’t there before.
And then…
You reach it.
The place where it happened.
The final battleground.
The room is dim, but not dark.
Loose wires still spark faintly.
Parts of the floor are charred from the inside out… like something burned through itself, not just around it.
And there…
In the center…
CatNap.
Collapsed.
His massive body lies motionless except for one thing.
Breathing.
Slow. Uneven. Strained.
Patches of purple fur are blackened and scorched.
His long limbs twitch occasionally from lingering electrical shock.
The smell of burned Red Smoke still clings to the air.
He isn’t dead.
The Prototype didn’t take him.
Not this time.
You step closer.
The floor creaks.
And then…
He moves.
His head shifts slightly.
One eye opens.
A single black pupil locks onto you.
No roar.
No sudden attack.
Just staring.
Aware.
Injured.
Dangerous.
But alive.
A faint sound escapes his open mouth… not quite a growl… more like air dragging through something burned deep inside.
He tries to move.
Fails.
One claw scratches weakly against the floor… as if trying to crawl… or rise…
Or defend himself.
Or…
Ask for help.
Something feels wrong.
He isn’t lunging.
He isn’t retreating.
He’s just watching you.
Waiting.
Breathing slow.
Heat shimmering in the air between you.
And now…
There is only one decision to make.
