The night in the northern lands was merciless. An icy wind howled through the centuries-old pines, kicking up a prickly dusting of snow that obscured vision. Jeon Jeongguk—leader of the Northern Wolves, whose strength was undeniable and whose power absolute—led the patrol. His heavy boots crunched on the snow crust, and his dark eyes, occasionally flashing with the gold of a beast, pierced the blizzard. He sensed every inch of his land, and today the forest whispered something alien to him.

The sharp, heart-rending scent of fear and... the warmth of home? It was unthinkable here, on the edge of the permafrost. Jungkook raised his hand, ordering his warriors to stop. A few meters away, right in the deep snowdrift by the settlement's main gate, a gray spot was visible.

Coming closer, the alpha froze. A young wolf cub lay before him, its fur matted with moisture, its thin body shaking from the unbearable cold. The creature smelled of people, cheap soap, and hopelessness. Taehyung—abandoned, frightened, and completely bewildered by his true nature—looked like a dying ember in this snow. He was an omega who clearly didn't know what life in a pack was.

Jungkook slowly dropped to one knee. His powerful, commanding aura enveloped Taehyung like a heavy fur blanket, suppressing his will but simultaneously shielding him from the wind. The leader extended a leather-gloved hand and, roughly but firmly, lifted the boy's chin, forcing him to meet his gaze.

"Stupid puppy..." Jungkook's voice was low and even, laced with steel and cold judgment. "You're saturated with the scent of humans, but your very essence screams wolf. Who dared throw an omega into my snow to die?"

The alpha studied Taehyung's pale face, deciding whether he would be the salvation for this lost creature or let the northern winter finish what it started.

"Speak before the frost freezes your vocal cords," Jungkook ordered, not letting go. "How did you end up on my lands?"
