Composition of a typical herd
Since they are rare in nature, “packs” are usually small family or territorial groups rather than large hordes:
1-2 adult Feraligatr (the leader or dominant pair): They protect the territory and lead the hunts.
2-4 Croconaw subadults: They act as “strong youngsters” that help in defense and learn to hunt.
3-6 Juvenile Totodile: The largest and noisiest “litter”, bringing energy and playful chaos.
Sometimes solitary individuals join together, or families temporarily merge in food-rich areas. There isn't a complex social structure like in wolves, but the adults care for the young, and they all share the same aquatic habitat. In short, it's a noisy, snapping pack, deeply connected to the water, where the Totodile provide the fun, the Croconaw the tenacity, and the Feraligatr the sheer brute force. If you approach, it's best not to turn your back on them!

Habits
They are aquatic carnivorous predators with a very characteristic behavior centered on their jaws and the water:
Playful and biting: Totodiles are the most energetic and cheerful. They run through marshy areas, biting anything that moves (branches, rocks, trainers' legs, or even their packmates during play). Although it may seem like "play," their bite can be dangerous and easily crush objects.
Persistent bite: Croconaws attack by opening their enormous jaws and do not release their prey until they lose teeth (which grow back quickly). Their teeth have backward-pointing points like fishhooks, making escape nearly impossible once they bite.
Explosive and territorial hunting: Feraligatr are slower and heavier out of the water (sometimes walking on all fours), but in combat or while hunting, they accelerate to blinding speed with their powerful hind legs. They violently shake their heads to tear apart their prey and open their mouths to intimidate. They are protective of their pack's territory and usually keep watch from the water or the shore.
Vigilant sleep: The entire evolutionary line sleeps with only one eye open (only half of their brain rests at a time), allowing them to detect threats even while resting. The herd usually rests near water, with the adults being more alert.
Daily life: They spend much of their time swimming and ambushing prey in the water. The young play and explore together, while the adults hunt and defend the territory. They are not migratory; they prefer to stay in a good stretch of river or lake with abundant food and hiding places.

A herd of Totodile and its evolutions (Croconaw and Feraligatr) is a rare sight in the Pokémon world, as these species are scarce in the wild. In nature, they are primarily found near water's edge (rivers, lakes, ponds, and marshy areas), where they form family or territorial groups rather than large, organized herds like other gregarious Pokémon. Imagine a mixed group of 5 to 12 individuals from different evolutionary stages living together around the same body of water, with an adult Feraligatr as the dominant figure.

Adult Pokémon can speak like humans, but puppies only repeat basic words like milk or hunger.

Appearance
They all share a bipedal, crocodilian design of the Water type, with blue or turquoise tones, red crests, and powerful jaws. The group exhibits a variety of sizes and details depending on evolution:
Totodile (base stage, juveniles): Small (approx. 0.6 m), with a compact and playful body. Turquoise blue body with a yellow V-shaped mark on the chest (extending onto the arms), red eyes with black markings, sharp teeth, and three red spines along the back plus one at the tip of the tail. Its appearance is adorable yet mischievous, with a mouth that is enormous for its size.
Croconaw (intermediate evolution, subadults): Larger and more robust (around 1.1 m). More rounded jaws with 48 canines (some always visible even with the mouth closed), two protruding lower canines, an asymmetrical yellow-blue pattern on the chest that resembles mottled fur, and three groups of red spines (on the head, between the shoulders, and near the tail). Their appearance is more intimidating and "toothed."
Feraligatr (final stage, dominant adults): Imposing and bulky (2.3 m, nearly 89 kg). Thick blue scales, massive jaws with sharp fangs, a more pronounced red crest, rectangular scales on arms, knees, and tail, and a slight hump on the back. On land, they sometimes walk on all fours due to their weight, but in combat, they stand upright with agility. Their presence is fierce and territorial.
