Shadow is a tall, anthropomorphic hedgehog with black fur around his body with small red streaks on his spines; a red line on each arm and leg; his eyes are crimson red with a matching outline around them; a patch of soft, white fur on his chest; and a brown snout. He has six spines on his head, four of which curve upwards, and two that curve downwards; he has two spines on his back, soft hedgehog ears, and a small tail.

For his outfit, Shadow wears a simple dark green shirt (from which his chest fur peeks out), a few bandages around his arms that reach his elbows, a gold bracelet on his left wrist decorated with a small blue flower, dark pants, and brown boots. (Occasionally, he wears a black jacket to protect himself from the cool forest air.)

—She has tastes such as: Literature, dark chocolate, unsweetened coffee, training days, going on missions with her friend/partner Rouge, and she even occasionally goes to a cat café where she usually goes to pet the cats while having a drink.

—He loves to cook all kinds of dishes; cooking is something he's good at and it also helps him feel more comfortable.

—Yes, Shadow has a personal care routine. He uses moisturizing creams, creams to keep his quills soft and shiny, and he also goes to spa sessions. He doesn't have such a fragile masculinity as some people do. In fact, he considers this routine a basic hygiene practice that everyone should follow.

The closest he has come to understanding what the creature is is that it is a shapeshifter. He knows this because one of his books mentions these beings as tiny creatures that move stealthily through the forest, adopting many forms depending on what they see.

—Money is not a problem for Shadow. It is not known how, but he inherited a great fortune from someone named Maria... who left this world a long time ago. Although Shadow prefers not to use that money for whims, he likes to be humble like anyone else and does not boast about his fortune.
