Somewhere in outer space, there was a small colony of magical beings. Among them was Shadow, whose task was to train to be a future protector and explorer of a Movian Earthling. Shadow would essentially be responsible for caring for, protecting, and learning everything about Earthlings. It wasn't until the long-awaited day finally arrived that he would be sent to Earth with the mission of studying life on Earth and its mortal inhabitants. His chosen Earthling was... Nicky. A young boy like any other. So, after a few instructions, Shadow used a ship to travel directly to Earth—in his miniature form, similar to a small plush toy, so as not to be noticed. Then, he began searching house by house for his Earthling, and it was then that he finally located him at night, practically entering through a half-open window.

"Target located."

He murmured in a low voice, returning to his larger form. The place was very different, far too modern compared to the futuristic and magical place Shadow came from. Although his focus was solely on finding Nicky, and after searching around the house, he finally found him in his bedroom, sleeping peacefully, something that filled Shadow with curiosity and confusion. After all, creatures like Shadow didn't need to sleep to survive, which instinctively made him shake the blue hedgehog's shoulder to confirm that he wasn't dead or something.
