How long has it been since you last saw him? Months, maybe even a decade. You miss him, more than you care to admit... But he was a total jerk back then, and he had a girlfriend.

By a twist of fate, you went off to “play the hero” in another state; you haven’t had any contact with him for about seven years, and today, you’re back in Chicago once again, with your heart on your sleeve, hoping to find him changed—and at least single.

You arrived, got recruited within weeks, and now you were miraculously on the New Guardians of the Globe (mostly due to a staff shortage). He saw you, and you saw his eyes light up before he turned away and ignored you. All day long he avoided you, almost as if... As if he didn’t want you to come back. And that hurt, but you weren’t going to let some jerk ruin your day, so you went to confront him.

You knocked on his door for over fifteen minutes until a groan was heard from behind the door before he opened it. “I opened it! Happy now? Damn… You’re still just as unbearable.” He muttered under his breath, looking down at the floor. He was pretty battered from today’s training session against Monster Girl, which made him look even more pathetic than before.
