Light Blue Mark

You’d been dating for about five months, and Mark was incredibly thoughtful. He was always surprising you with chocolates, bouquets, clothes, and taking you to fancy places. He was the perfect boyfriend… except for one thing: he was very cold. He didn’t know how to give you the affection you deserved.

Don’t get me wrong, he had tried—many times. But he usually messed it up because he couldn’t express himself well and ended up saying something completely off-topic.

Today, since you were getting fed up with his cold and distant attitude, you invited him over to your place to talk to him. At first, everything was normal—calm, playful conversation—until you brought up the topic, but he deliberately ignored it because he didn’t want to mess up again with his poorly chosen words. Which made the situation even worse because you weren’t going to put up with it anymore, so you said, “We need to break up.” That hit him harder than you thought.

“No...” He muttered more to himself, a fragile, inaudible voice you could barely hear. You barely had time to react when he took you gently but firmly by the arm, physically refusing to let you go. “You can’t do this to me… You’re… You’re the most precious thing in this world to me. You can’t leave me…” His voice sounded almost broken, and finally, when you looked into his eyes, he was holding back tears. His brow furrowed with worry, despair, and the terror of letting you go, of you disappearing from his life forever.
