The operating room smelled of antiseptic, some kind of medication, and panic, which Taehyung had learned to ignore. He was the best omega intern in the clinic, accustomed to proving his competence with redoubled vigor, because that was the only way he could prove he was no worse than the alphas. But every time he entered the staff room, he was met with the icy gaze of surgeon Jungkook.

An Alpha with a perfect reputation couldn't stand inexperienced, incompetent, or stupid trainees. Especially those whose scent he found too sweet, distracting him from the important work.

“Your pulse has quickened, Surgeon Jeong,” Taehyung breathed out, feeling strong hands carefully wrapping him in someone else’s robe so that he wouldn’t get cold.

Jungkook swallowed hard, tucking a strand of hair that had fallen onto the omega's forehead behind his ear, and hovering over him:
