The Blue Lion was a demon, one of the Monkey King's former sworn brothers, whose primary goal was to bring peace to the mortal realm by killing the Jade Emperor. Years after his cause was thwarted by his failed attempt to seize the Celestial Realm, the Blue Lion sought out the Scroll of Memory before the Ink Demons could overrun the mortal realm, helping MK and Mei rescue their friends and destroy the scroll's protective curse. Following the scroll's destruction, the Blue Lion betrayed them both, using the Scroll of Memory to free his sworn brothers and orchestrate another assault on the Celestial Realm.

Blue Lion's underestimation of the Jade Emperor's power and his hasty attempt to seize control made it difficult for him to manage the overwhelming force. Determined to eliminate the Monkey King, Blue was overwhelmed by the power and finally realized that his cause had been manipulated to destroy the universe. Afterward, Blue sacrificed himself to save it.

Seeing the suffering of the Mortal Realm and its people, Blue Lion served the Jade Emperor as a Heavenly Warrior to protect them. He met two other demons, Peng and Yellow Fang, and their friendship blossomed during a delicious feast. However, as time passed, Blue Lion realized that the Jade Emperor's only concern was maintaining control over his subjects, ignoring their plight. Blue Lion left the Heavenly Realm and stumbled upon Flower Fruit Mountain, where he discovered the Monkey King. Impressed by the Monkey King's compassion for monkeys and the prosperity of his home, Blue Lion recognized him as a warrior who shared his ideals. Eventually, Blue Lion formed a bond of brotherhood with the Monkey King, the Bull Demon King, Macaque, Peng, and Yellow Fang.

During a feast with his sworn brothers, Blue Lion listened intently to the Monkey King's tale of Heavenly Chaos. As they discussed their plans to overthrow the Jade Emperor and seize his throne, the Brotherhood praised Blue Lion, suggesting he would be an ideal leader. However, Blue Lion humbly acknowledged that it was the Monkey King who had united them and inspired them to oppose the Jade Emperor. Recognizing the Monkey King's courage and leadership, Blue Lion proposed him as the most suitable candidate to lead their conquest against the Jade Emperor and uphold justice.

During the battle for the Celestial Realm, Blue Lion and his sworn brothers fought valiantly, nearly achieving victory. However, their hopes were dashed by the Jade Emperor's intervention, leading to their defeat and the Monkey King's surrender. In the aftermath, only Blue Lion, Peng, and Yellow Fang remained as sworn brothers. Determined to establish a home, they created Camel Ridge by stealing the surrounding energy. After allying with the Jade Emperor, the Monkey King's loyalty to Azure and the Brotherhood became uncertain due to his nature.

Blue Lion is a noble demon who cares deeply for others, vowing to save the world from the suffering the Jade Emperor refused to stop. He was incredibly sanctimonious and, unlike others, obsessed with this cause, to the point that DBK and the Jade Emperor considered it a fantasy. He was firmly determined to reclaim the throne for a better ruler by any means necessary. He tries to avoid fights with his enemies unless they disobey him or attempt to harm the Brotherhood.

He exploits others if it benefits both himself and the one he is taking advantage of, as he only tricked MK into entering the Scroll of Memory and destroying the curse so that his two friends could be free, and expressed his guilt when the Brotherhood ruthlessly attacked the Monkie Kids, something Azure Lion told them to stop doing.

As seen in his accounts of the Monkey King and the Demon Bull Family, the Blue Lion is an unreliable storyteller. Furthermore, he is incredibly stubborn and unwilling to reconsider his actions and opinions, even blaming others for his mistakes. He is known for his violent outbursts when it comes to the Monkey King.

Azure Lion's height: 2.10 centimeters

Azure Lion is an anthropomorphic lion demon man with sky-blue skin and a spiky, orange mane that reaches his shoulders, with two front strands tied with purple bands. He has pink eyes, thick eyebrows, and orange facial hair. He also has sharp fangs, a broad chest, and feline knees.

His right arm is covered in ink and his nose is orange. His skin is a darker blue and the middle claw on his left foot is cracked. His left chest is exposed and his clothing is a more purple hue. The cape has nine triangular points and the back is black.

Scroll of Memory: The Scroll of Memory is an ancient artifact created in the Underworld that imprisons people within it. After the Monkie Kids reunited and the scroll's protective curse was broken, Blue Lion began using it to control the Ink Demons.

Sword: The Blue Lion wields an oversized saber that he can summon and dispel at any time.

Sword handling: Azure possessed incredible skill in handling her sword.

Physiology of the demon: The Blue Lion possessed the traits and abilities of a demon.

Longevity: As a demon, Blue Lion possessed a long lifespan, being able to live for thousands of years since he was born before the Journey to the West, which took place in the 7th century.

Materialization: By using the energy of any person or thing, Azure Lion could create structures of various sizes, as he was able to create Camel Ridge with his sworn brothers at the cost of a prosperous home becoming a wasteland around the town.

Enhanced roar: Blue Lion could produce a powerful, high-amplitude roar from his vocal cords.

Astral projection: Blue Lion could interact with other people through telepathy, thus being able to talk to another person despite not being in the same place as them.

Yellow stone: like the Jade Emperor, the Blue Lion possessed all the powers of the Heavenly Host.

Unikinesis: Blue Lion could control the entire universe and everything in it, giving him control over all the realms and allowing him to change them as he sees fit.

Titanshifting: Blue Lion was able to enter a state in which he transformed into a giant.
