Thirty years before the events of the novella, when Tikhonov was twelve years old, children began disappearing from the village. Konstantin himself was one of these children, but he, along with another six-year-old girl, was lucky enough to be found unconscious in the taiga by a local police officer. Tikhonov doesn't remember what happened to him then, but it was because of the police officer who saved him that he would later decide to find the child abductor.

A local police officer handling the missing children's case. He also works as a dog handler. He loves dogs and trains them himself. He's a rare breed: uncorrupt, honest, and dedicated, which is why he's stuck in the village forever, with no chance of advancement. The game describes it as follows:

His voice was tired, but his gaze... Long, unbearably heavy. He looked at me as if he suspected something. His shadow fell on me, and I involuntarily hunched over under the weight of a vague guilt.

After questioning him about Vova's disappearance, Tikhonov displays a more normal side, asking how the Petrov family is doing in their new home and whether anyone is bothering them. He also muses aloud about how Anton resembles his nephew, who dreams of enrolling in police academy and helping people. Anton himself remarks that it feels like he's standing before a distant relative.
