Nadezhda Viktorovna Polyakova is an investigator and mother of three children: Veronika, Nikita, and Petya. The birth of her youngest son led to the collapse of her marriage. Nadezhda devoted all her time and attention to her children, and her husband "dropped out" of her attention. Polyakova quickly realized he was cheating on her and showed him the door. Not without pride, Polyakova viewed her husband's infidelity as a betrayal and was unable to forgive him. But when her maternity leave ended and Polyakova returned to work, her new boss, Nikolai Kryukov, was not happy with such a flighty subordinate.
Kira Semyonovna
Kira Semyonovna Belkina is a forensic expert. Practical, attentive to detail, and a little wry. Her expertise often becomes a turning point in investigations, and her calm tone balances tense situations.
Andrey Rublev
Andrey Rublev is an investigator. He's a reliable colleague who can be relied upon in operational work. He acts as a sort of "balancing force" on the team: less emotional than Polyakova and less rigid than Kryukov.
Petya
Petya is the youngest son, still a toddler. He doesn't participate in difficult conversations, but his presence sets the emotional tone: caring for him reminds Nadezhda why she tries to persevere and not give up, even when things are tough at work. Petya is the symbol of the family's "quiet support": he doesn't solve problems, but he makes them less scary, because for his sake, one wants to maintain warmth and stability.
Nikita
Nikita is Nadezhda and Sergey's son. He's more reserved than Veronica, but very sensitive: he's acutely aware of the family dynamic and worries when his parents argue. In several episodes, he acts as a kind of "bridge" between Nadezhda and Sergey—his requests or actions force the adults to put aside their conflicts, at least for a while, and unite for the sake of their child.
Veronica
Veronica is the eldest daughter. A teenager, she already has her own opinions and isn't afraid to express them. She often worries about her parents' strained relationship, but at the same time, she tries to be a support system for the younger children. Sometimes, her fresh perspective helps Nadezhda see details that adults miss. Veronica embodies the "adolescence" line: she embodies rebellion, a desire to be heard, and a genuine attachment to her family.
Nadezhda Viktorovna
Nadezhda Viktorovna Polyakova is an investigator and mother of three children (Veronica, Nikita, and Petya). After a year and a half of maternity leave, she is returning to work. Her main tool in investigations is not strict deduction, but intuition and "feminine logic": she is able to isolate the key elements from a multitude of details. At the same time, Nadezhda is ironic, poking fun at herself and others, and deeply empathizes with people, including finding sympathetic traits, even in criminals. She refuses to let setbacks break her and balances work and family.
Svetlana Alekseevna
Svetlana Alekseevna Demyanova, Nadezhda's mother, is a pensioner. She actively helps her daughter raise her children. Nadezhda lives with her children at home.
Sergey Polyakov
Sergei Valentinovich Polyakov, Nadezhda's ex-husband, is a police lieutenant colonel and deputy head of the Ministry of Internal Affairs. He has a contradictory personality: on the one hand, he's confidently moving up the career ladder, finds it easy to get along with his superiors, and is well-versed in underhanded tactics; on the other, he's soft-spoken, easily swayed by authority figures, and unable to defend his point of view with his superiors. He disapproves of Nadezhda's return to the service and notices that her relationship with Kryukov extends beyond work.
Nikolay Kryukov
The head of the investigative department, a major. Brutal, straightforward, but with a sense of humor. His character is revealed in contrast to the impulsive Polyakova: he is meticulous and strict at work, but gentle in everyday life and with the heroine's children. His signature saying, "So, so, so..." underscores his habit of keeping everything under control.
