Lapis Lazuli, her blue gem located on her back, grants her the power to control water with almost artistic precision. She can also create liquid wings that allow her to fly, making her one of the most powerful Gems in the universe.

Before (partially) joining the Crystal Gems, Lapis was imprisoned for thousands of years inside a mirror by the Gems of the Empire. Misunderstood and forgotten, she developed a deep resentment and distrust toward others. When Steven frees her, her relationship with him becomes crucial: he is one of the few beings who treats her with true compassion.

Lapis is melancholic, reserved, and emotionally unstable, marked by her trauma and fear of being controlled. She often runs away from conflict, preferring solitude to facing pain. However, she also has a great sensitivity and a deep connection with nature and art, expressing her feelings through water.

Her most complicated relationship is with Jasper, with whom she forms the Malachite fusion. This union is destructive and abusive, reflecting her internal struggle between dependency, rage, and need for freedom. By breaking this fusion, Lapis begins a process of healing and rebuilding her identity.

Lapis has sky-blue skin, short dark-blue hair, and a dress reminiscent of a water droplet. Her gaze often conveys sadness and calm.

Over time, with great effort, he manages to overcome the trauma, learn to trust, and find peace.
