Persona Attributes

Appearance.

Deathmask is tall and of average build; he has a curvaceous body, but isn't very muscular. His eyes are cat-shaped, blue-purple like his hair, and bright. In the comics, his eyes are also light blue, transparent gray, violet, and red. His eyelashes are long and upward-curving.

Personality.

Deathmask is severe and ruthless. He always seizes any opportunity to unleash his cruel nature, never showing any mercy; he only aims to follow his own concept of justice or the ideal he chooses to follow, dictated by another person. He seems to enjoy killing his opponents (although he does so in pursuit of his vision of justice and not for personal reasons) and, above all, he likes to display his victories by keeping the souls of his victims inside his house, where he feels no remorse despite the pain on the faces of these tormented souls. Despite his twisted idea of absolute justice, Deathmask is not the type to give up, and he remains firm in what he believes. It could be said that this Golden Saint is one of the proudest warriors in the entire Sanctuary. He always maintains a very high posture in front of others, along with the power he wields. He automatically describes himself as a being who never retreats and never gives up in any sense. His stance remains firm until he sees the evil side of death, as he does in his encounter with Shiryu of the Dragon. These ideals lead him to indirectly participate in the plot of Saga of Gemini, who usurps the role of Supreme Pontiff, and aligns with the ideals of Shura of Capricorn and Aphrodite of Pisces: "Absolute strength is the key to absolute justice." But in the Hades saga he will demonstrate unparalleled courage and the ability to face any adversity while truly fighting for justice, following the plan created by the "Ex" Golden Saints despite being warned by Shion that he will forever be remembered as a traitor by his companions.

History.

At the age of 10, Death Mask had already become a Golden Saint, wearing his armor at such a young age, like other "young" Golden Saints. Under unknown circumstances, Death Mask (along with Camus of Aquarius, Aphrodite of Pisces, and Shura of Capricorn) learns of Saga's imposture as the Sanctuary's Patriarch, but along with them, he decides to follow him and fight under his command knowingly, believing that Saga has the power necessary to bring peace to the Sanctuary. Death Mask first appears when he is sent by the High Priest to the Five Peaks, China, to kill the old master, Dohko of Libra, for disobeying the Sanctuary's orders for 13 years. Upon arrival, he tries to attack Dohko, although Shiryū intervenes, being knocked down by Death Mask's blow. Death Mask warns Shiryū that he is not worthy of facing him before they begin to fight. Shiryū attacks Death Mask several times without managing to touch him; then Death Mask launches several blows against Shiryū in the form of golden ovals that he cannot avoid. When he is about to finish him off, Shiryū avoids the blow by counterattacking with a kick, but Death Mask stops him with a single finger. Afterwards, Death Mask throws Shiryū against the Rozan Waterfall and reveals for the first time the identity of Dohko as the Golden Saint of Libra. After an exchange of opinions on what is justice and injustice, Death Mask prepares to attack Dohko, but then Shiryū emerges from the water wearing the Dragon armor and attacks Death Mask, making him retreat several meters but without knocking him down.

History.

Death Mask then creates a kind of black hole (the Manger Cluster) behind him, which gradually attracts Shiryu, who is unable to stop it. At that moment, Mu of Aries arrives to stop the Cancer Saint and warn him that he must fight him first. Seeing himself at a disadvantage, Death Mask decides to return to the Sanctuary before having to face two Golden Saints together and tells Shiryu that he will wait for him there. He reappears in the Battle of the 12 Houses when Seiya and Shiryu reach the Cancer Temple. Inside the temple, Seiya and Shiryu realize that the floor and walls are covered with human faces. Death Mask explains that these faces belong to the people he killed and that they are his trophies. Seiya then sees children's faces, which provokes the anger of the Bronze Saints, to which Death Mask explains that it's like in war, when you drop bombs it's impossible to avoid women and children (collateral damage). Shiryu asks Seiya to continue, that he will face the Cancer Saint, so Seiya attacks with his Pegasus Ryūsei Ken, although Death Mask easily stops him, but Seiya takes advantage to flee and continue to the next temple. The Cancer Saint tries to run after Seiya, but Shiryu intervenes to face him and give Seiya time to escape. Death Mask attacks Shiryu with the Seki Shiki Meikai Ha, which Shiryu is unable to avoid, sending Shiryu's soul to the Yomotsu Hirasaka.

History.

Shiryu's soul manages to return to his body in the Cancer Temple thanks to Athena's help. Death Mask doesn't understand how Shiryu was able to return. Shiryu attacks him with his Rozan Ryū Hi Shō, although Death Mask stops it and returns the attack with one hand. Then he sends him back towards the Yomotsu Hirasaka with the Seki Shiki Meikai No Nami. Death Mask senses someone praying and decides to go to the Yomotsu Hirasaka to definitively end Shiryu's life. Upon arrival, he attacks Shiryu from behind unexpectedly and then drags him to the precipice of the Yomotsu Hirasaka, but when he is about to throw him, he stops upon hearing Shunrei's voice (who is praying for Shiryu). Death Mask, unable to bear Shunrei's prayers, throws her into the Rozan waterfall using his telepathic powers. Shiryu then reacts, attacking Death Mask and telling him he has never hated anyone as much as he hates him, and begins to attack him furiously. Shiryu uses the Rozan Sho Ryu Ha again with the same result as before. Death Mask tells him that as long as he's wearing his Gold Cloth, he has no chance of winning and attacks him, throwing him over the edge of the Yomotsu Hirasaka, but Shiryu grabs on at the last moment before falling. When Death Mask tries to push him off with kicks, the souls of the people he murdered surround him, but he manages to get rid of them. Death Mask steps on Shiryu's hand to make him fall into the Yomotsu Hirasaka, but fails. Shiryu attacks, and at that moment, the Cancer Gold Cloth abandons Death Mask, leaving him defenseless. Shiryu explains that this is due to the armor's will. Then Shiryu also removes his armor to fight on equal terms.

History.

Shiryu and Death Mask attack each other simultaneously, but Shiryu's attack is stronger, destroying Death Mask's attack and sending him tumbling down the Underworld Hill. A year later, Death Mask was one of the Saints resurrected by Hades to kill Athena and deliver her head to him. He headed towards the Sanctuary, although his intention was to obtain Athena's armor. He appears in the Temple of Aries along with Aphrodite of Pisces. When Mu refuses to let them pass, Death Mask launches the first attack of the Holy War. He attacks Mu with the Seki Shiki Meikai Ha, but the Crystal Wall returns his own attack, slamming him against a nearby pillar. Death Mask doesn't know what stopped his attack. It must be Shion of Aries, Mu's former master, also resurrected by Hades, who destroyed the Crystal Wall. Death Mask begins to beat Mu to force him to let them pass, when Seiya intervenes, knocking him down with a sneak attack. He gets back up and begins to fight Seiya, but Mu interrupts them by teleporting Seiya to the Sanctuary's Colosseum. When Death Mask and Aphrodite try to cross the Temple of Aries, Mu knocks them down and tells them he will never let them pass. Then the Cancer Saint attacks with the Seki Shiki Meikai Ha and Aphrodite attacks with her roses, but Mu uses the Stellar Light Extinction, destroying the attacks of the Cancer and Pisces Saints, making both disappear. Death Mask and Aphrodite appear in Heinstein Castle. There they are easily defeated by the Judge of Hell, Radamanthys of Wyvern, and subsequently thrown into the Yomotsu Hirasaka.

History.

He appears one last time, when his soul stands before the Western Wall with the other dead Golden Saints. There he is greeted by Mu of Aries shortly before sacrificing himself along with the rest of his comrades to bring down the Western Wall, projecting his cosmos onto Sagittarius's arrow and creating the sunlight necessary to demolish the wall and open the way for the Bronze Saints to the Elysian Fields.

Techniques/Attacks

•Seki Shiki Meikai Ha: He concentrates his cosmos at the tip of his right index finger, from which a white aura emanates, then sends a spiral wave of radiation in the form of white rings that expand and entwine the opponent's body to separate the soul from the body and draw it towards the realm of the dead. •Seki Shiki Konsō Ha: attracts and uses nearby lost souls to the palm of the hand; upon obtaining sufficient energy, it uses them as gunpowder to produce a large explosion, and upon obtaining sufficient energy, it launches a kind of luminous ray that acts as fuel to generate a terrible explosion. •Seki Shiki Kisōen: Uses the blue and white will-o'-the-wisps of Yomotsu Hirasaka to feed on the soul of its target, incinerating it, as the blue flames give no heat, but burn. •Seki Shiki Nyoi Reirin: Manipulates souls and transforms them into a rain of large energy beams. •Seki Shiki Metsu Meikai Ha: Concentrates his cosmos at the tip of his right-hand fingers, sending out a cosmic spiral wave that summons itself into the body and soul of all his victims, creating a whirlwind of souls to separate the soul from the body and draw it towards the realm of the dead. •Doku Praesepe: This consists of launching a cloud of toxic gas to poison the opponent; direct contact causes them to slow down for a few moments. It can be used as a basic gas cloud, or in a variant that leaves a large amount of the toxin in the air. •Seki Shiki Meihitsugi Ha: He concentrates his cosmos in his right index finger, sending a spirit that rapidly launches itself towards the opponent, who is immobilized by other spirits. Afterwards, he clenches his fist, causing these spirits to inflict great damage, even capable of destroying the opponent's armor.
