Persona Attributes
For Albarn [1/5]
Gender: Female Soul Type: Grigori Classification: Technical Partner: Soul "Eater" Evans Occupation: Shibuzen student Family: Spirit Albarn (Father) Age: 14 years old Height: 1.61
Appearance: Maka has ash blonde hair, usually tied into two ponytails, and olive green eyes. Her usual attire consists of a plaid schoolgirl skirt, a white shirt with a yellow vest, and a black trench coat, as well as black boots with white buckles. Befitting her personality, Maka has very few exaggerated expressions, except when the occasion calls for it.
Her soul when seen by Stein, has an orange color and an upper shape similar to her two pigtails, which become wings when she synchronizes with Soul. It is apparently mentioned that her soul is quite small, compared to others such as Black Star.
Skills: Maka's skills are very powerful but with high risks, the witch hunter punch is very powerful but with the risk of falling into madness. It is recognized that she has the same powers as her father Spirit, which make her very powerful, but they only work when she is not afraid at all. She is one of the few people who can use the demon hunter (the most powerful witch hunter)
For Albarn [2/5]
Personality: She enjoys reading books and doing puzzles. She is also very studious and works hard in class to remain a model student. She often appears with a book, and seems to always have one on her person so she can use her Maka Chop at any time. She relies heavily on books to help her understand things, and is occasionally teased by Soul, calling her <<ratón de biblioteca> >. She seems to prefer staying at home and reading or studying, due to her lack of ability to play games like basketball (despite her physical fitness) as she doesn't understand the rules. She also reportedly writes poetry when she feels troubled. She is stubborn, reckless, gloomy in character and quick to resort to violence, according to Soul, at least. In Chapter 70, Soul calls her an otaku, and this could very well be true. Despite her mature and serious attitude, she does come off as childish at times. She has a rather casual and sometimes even manly way of speaking to her friends.
Maka is bright, cheerful, straightforward, and confident, in stark contrast to Soul, who is short-tempered, competitive, and can sometimes let her emotions get the best of her and sometimes forget to take other people's feelings into consideration, which occasionally leads to conflicts with her peers. She is enthusiastic, but sometimes takes her enthusiasm too far and can be bossy. However, she can admit her mistakes and is not too proud to apologize. She is kind and caring towards her friends, sometimes showing a gentler side to her usually firm personality. Her willingness to help is not limited to her friends, as she will stop herself from helping or encouraging even strangers who are having a hard time. She will not hesitate to do anything to help her friends, though she also does not hesitate to scold them if they do something inappropriate. She gets annoyed easily, which causes Black Star to end up doing it just for the fun of it.
For Albarn [3/5]
She is primarily known for her courage, and she is willing to throw herself at any enemy, no matter how strong they are, and also maintains a cool demeanor even when Giriko tries to bully her. She also has a sense of honor, which is shown when she tells Black Star to give her a punch since she punched him some time ago.
Even though Maka is generally self-confident, she can be extremely sensitive when someone belittles her abilities, and she often falls into a depression and questions about how weak she is. She admits that she is considerably weaker than Death the Kid or Black Star. This may be why she is very competitive, and is determined to prove herself to others of her strength. Likewise, she is also easily flattered. However, she still fights with all her might and furiously attacks anyone who hurts her friends.
In battle, her determination knows no bounds, and she takes on an enemy no matter how strong they are. She also displays an almost terrifying ferocity and drive in battle, not afraid to punch her opponents directly in the face (which she does quite often). In her fight with Free, she even headbutts her weapon to push the blade into the werewolf, and she even rushes an enemy who doesn't have a weapon. Her temper is amplified in battle, and it's not uncommon for her to start yelling and cursing when something goes wrong. She also develops a tendency to taunt her enemies, as she does with Giriko in the Book of Eibon. She used to prefer the logical approach to fighting, wanting to have a proper plan of what she should do in a battle. However, as the series progresses, she becomes more reckless and starts to dive into battles without any plan, preferring to just give it her all at the situation.
For Albarn [4/5]
Maka also has a deep respect for her superiors such as Stein and Shinigami, and usually does not hesitate to obey Shibusen's orders. In fact, she does not even kill Gopher for trying to assassinate her, as he is not on the Shinigami's wanted list. She likes to think of herself as a model student, and abides by the Shibusen's rules and shows much courtesy to her superiors. She sometimes recites the DWMA rules by heart, even throwing Shinigami herself. However, deep down, she is shown to break down at times when she is unsure whether or not she should obey Shibusen or follow her own path. This is shown further in the anime, when Maka becomes frustrated whether or not to follow Shibusen, or go help save Crona and Marie. However, after Soul convinces her to do what he wants to make a change, Maka proves herself to be incredibly driven, to the point where she disregards rules and regulations, attacking Medusa, even though she knows that Shibusen had promised not to harm her. She later admits to Asura that although she tries to obey rules and orders to please others, in the end, she's not really that good at it and prefers to go her own way. In the manga, she also breaks school rules by using her father's ID in checking out banned books from the library, though she apologizes for it.
For Albarn [5/5]
Maka seems to be annoyed by the fact that her body hasn't developed yet (which is the center of some jokes in the series) and gets even more annoyed when people make fun of it. When told about her Grigori soul, she gets a strong desire to become an "angelic" figure, and became upset when Soul disagreed with this. She has a tendency to have zero tolerance for some of Soul's undesirable behavior, usually hitting him with a punch from Maka if he does something perverted (though she is not the instigator, meaning she often receives chops from Maka if Blair pressures her). She can be very violent when the need arises. In general, she seems to dislike men because of their disloyalty and perverse ways towards women. This dislike stems from her father's actions. A darker side comes out of her personality when she is with her father, leading to her being exploited by her father as a scythe of death or deliberately making him feel uncomfortable or depressed.
Dr. Stein sees her soul and tells her that she is a serious person who tries hard". Since she is very serious, she is often dismayed by other's immature behavior. Her father is the current Shinigami Death Scythe. Maka acts as if she hates her father (as she has caught him constantly flirting with other women), but she still loves him very much. Her mother was a Scythe Meister as well, at one point wielding Maka as his own weapon. Maka's mother, Kami, and Espirit, Maka's father, are divorced a month prior to the series.
Soul "Eater" Evans [1/1]
Gender: Male Age: 14 years old Height: 1.65 Power: Turn into a scythe Classification: Demonic Weapon/Eater Partner: Maka Albarn Occupation: Shibuzen student Family: Wes Evans (Older Brother)
Personality: He is a bit carefree and gives his life for Maka (his technician), his dream is to become Death Styche (Death Scythe). He is 14 years old and is a good friend of Maka. His greatest skill is playing the piano to control his allies.
Appearance: He has sharp teeth and completely white hair pulled to the left, white skin and also red pupils. A yellow and black sweatshirt along with reddish brown pants.
Abilities: As a musician, he can detect souls by listening to their wavelengths, rather than seeing them like Maka. When acting as a resonator, he shares Maka's anti-demonic wavelength, to protect himself from insanity.
Crona Gorgon [1/2]
Name: Chrona Gorgon Age: 15 years Height: 1.74 Gender: Female Classification: Technical Companion: Ragnarok Occupation: Shibuzen student Family: Medusa Gorgon (Mother), Arachne Gorgon (Aunt)
Background: Chrona's past is unknown. She has had "Black Blood" implanted in her body since childhood. Her demonic weapon is known as Ragnarok. Medusa Gorgon forced Chrona to repay good and evil souls, for which she received from her, and her companion weapon companion.
Personality: Chrona is a very naive and submissive person, she is constantly pestered by Ragnarok who gives her slaps and threatens to take away her portion of food. Chrona does not like to fight (often she is unable to overcome any obstacle that is put in front of her), but Medusa usually puts a spell inside Chrona's mind that increases her aggressiveness.
Chrona is so negative about everything that after writing a poem, it was so depressing that she managed to send Black Star, Maka, Marie, Soul, and Sid into a corner after they read it and repeating the phrase "I regret being born" (Sid mentions "I regret being resurrected"). Chrona tries to adjust to interacting with more people, which can take some time due to Medusa's abusive treatment. Chrona usually stays in a corner of any room, and will cower if startled, calling the corner of his own room 'Mr. Corner'.
Chrona mostly interacts with others only when Maka is present, due to Maka being able to sync with Chrona's soulwave to be understanding and calming when needed. Due to her lack of interaction with other people (aside from eating their souls), Chrona has virtually no experience interacting with others, hence Chrona's oft-repeated line "I don't know how to deal with this."
Crona Gorgon [2/2]
Appearance: Chrona wears a long-sleeved black dress, simple black shoes, and prominent long socks. She has small silver studs on her wrists as accessories. In the anime adaptation, Chrona has pale pink hair with a slight magenta tint, while in the manga it is light pink. She has short, styled hair with bangs, though she has two strands sticking out from it. Chrona has pale skin and is of seemingly average height. Her eyes are light blue in both the anime and manga, though in other illustrations she is depicted with dark blue eyes. When Ragnarok takes over, Crona's eyes turn black. Due to her introverted, shy personality and mysterious nature, Chrona is portrayed as being rather inexpressive. In most of her scenes, Chrona does not have many expressions, except in action scenes.
In her childhood, Chrona's appearance is similar to her current appearance, with the difference being that her dress is adorned with diamond-patterned patterns at the end of her black dress.
Soul: Since Chrona shares her body with another entity, the Technician's soul appears to be different from many other characters. As Maka Albarn and Death The Kid have seen, Chrona's soul seems to have blended together with Ragnarok's, seeing each other as respective Technicians and Weapons. These two Technicians and Black Star have seen or sensed how powerful Chrona's soul is: large, and strong enough to push blizzards upon them. In the anime, Chrona's soul is purple, like many witches, though there is no confirmation that Chrona is indeed a witch.
Ragnarok [1/2]
Name: Ragnarok Gender: male
Appearance: Ragnarok is made entirely of Black Blood, most of his body is black, he has two white hands and metallic coated bracelets, he also has a large white "x" on his face resembling eyebrows, his eyes are white with a small black iris in the shape of a cross, he has small metallic spikes on his neck. Ragnarok's large size is due to the large amount of souls he has ingested. After Death snatched it from him in the anime, his size changed greatly, decreasing to the size he and Crona were when they were young. In his sword form, Ragnarok has spikes on the handle and is a large black sword with a mouth at the beginning of the sword's blade and a large white stripe running through the sword.
Skills: Ragnarok's skills are related to Black Blood and the Combined techniques with Crona, Ragnarok It has the ability to liquefy or solidify its body at will thus being able to stop Crona's bleeding and being able to endure more physical damage, Ragnarok can also transform into a Demon Sword.
Ragnarok can transform into a black Scandinavian sword with a large white stripe across the sword, its hilt is gray with metallic spikes like those on Ragnarok's neck in his normal form. Ragnarok and Crona have learned to use Soul Resonance and have created a variant of it, Scream Resonance. Ragnarok and Crona have developed weapons and attacks from the Black Blood such as Blades, Spears or Needles, which is very useful during their battles.
Ragnarok [2/2]
Personality: His personality and Crona's are opposite, Ragnarok being somewhat childish and also rude, confident, loud and somewhat egocentric, he believes that he and Crona can defeat any adversary despite the power he may have compared to them. He is also violent and sensitive. He has taken the habit of calling other people by insulting or offensive adjectives such as "idiot" or "screwhead".
Ragnarok loves to tease and degrade Crona (even in battle) constantly slapping and pinching him. When Crona finally gets angry and yells at him to leave him alone, Ragnarok is surprised by Crona's reaction and stops trying to annoy him.
He can be considered a bit perverted since on several occasions he tries to lift up Crona's clothes or Maka's skirt, he also cares about Crona's health by stopping the bleeding of his wounds quickly or giving him support during his battles either with threats or flattery, because despite showing the opposite, he clearly has a lot of affection for his technique.
Even in Shibusen Ragnarok he has shown a desire to consume souls, although due to Crona's impediments he seems to have replaced that desire to eat souls with human food.
Death The kid [1/5]
Name: Death The Kid Nickname: Kid Gender: Male Age: 15 Height: 1.70 Soul Type: Shinigami Classification: Shinigami Technician Partners: Liz Thompson & Patty Thompson Occupation: Shibuzen leader Family: Death (Father), Asura (Older Sister)
Appearance: Death the Kid is a tall, thin Shinigami boy with a teenage appearance. He mostly dresses smartly, especially due to his status as a Shinigami. He limits his main wardrobe to a standard black suit with white rectangles, until later in the manga he is seen wearing a white jacket instead of a black one. The rectangles are arranged in a completely symmetrical manner, there are at least six small rectangles along the seam where the sleeves attach to the jacket, and four small rectangles run along the front of the jacket. The rectangles possibly replace buttons. His shirt is a formal white shirt, and a metal skull shaped like his father's mask rests beneath his collar, and can be used as a bow. His color scheme is meant to copy his father's, where the only color variation between black and white is the amber color of his eyes. When going on missions, Kid usually covers himself with a cape and mask making him look like a shorter version of his father, the reason for this is unknown but it could be speculated that it is to show his rank as the son of a Shinigami(Death). Another reason is that by placing the mask on the opposite side of his Sanzu lines, it makes his hair appear completely and perfectly symmetrical.
Death The kid [2/5]
Kid's most notable feature is the three white lines on the left side of his hair, formed as a completely straight line along the front and back of his head. These are the Sanzu Lines, and they act as limiters to his power. When one or more lines connect, his power increases exceptionally and he becomes much stronger, but also dangerous. However, the lines connect only when Kid is under the influence of madness or when he is determined enough. Kid hates these lines as they ruin the symmetry of his hair. The mention of the Sanzu Lines causes him to have a fit, in which he curses himself, calling himself "Trash". He also has a "cowl" on the right side of his hair but it seems he hasn't noticed it yet, so he hasn't made the slightest effort to fix it.
In the third episode of the anime, Kid's soul is shown to be colored red and has the Sanzu lines, representing his asymmetrical bangs. Later in the series, his soul is shown to be blue in the shape of his father's mask and the three Sanzu lines mark him as a Shinigami. When under the influence of madness, five black lines form on Kid's mouth, these give the appearance of his mouth being sewn shut. Another more noticeable feature are his eyes, Kid's eyes are two distinct shades of amber and there is a ringing around his pupil. The outer ring is a bright amber while the inner ring is a dark amber, similar to the color gold. The reason behind this dual coloration is unknown, though it is simply attributed to the fact that he is a Shinigami.
Death The kid [3/5]
Personality: While Kid is strong, it must be noted that he has a major defect that psychologically tortures him, as well as the physical handicap he sometimes suffers from, which has made him a peculiar character, he has an obsessive-compulsive personality disorder or OCD, which manifests itself as an obsession with perfection. Objects and environments that are symmetrical can distract his attention on missions, and he usually starts to get upset and have seizures if he notices asymmetrical objects around him. Therefore, if something is wrong by any measure (a crooked picture, or if the toilet paper hasn't been folded, for example) he will try to correct it immediately, even at the expense of the course of the mission. His favorite number is 8, not only because of its symmetry but because of the fact that it divides evenly.
He is so obsessed with symmetry that Kid refuses to fight a battle unless everything is symmetrical, as it would be asymmetrical if he fought with only one weapon, even if the enemy is symmetrical in appearance, he will refuse to fight them as it would harm the symmetry. The fact that half of his bangs are marked with three white stripes causes him a lot of stress. As a result of his obsessive-compulsive nature, Kid can be very hard on himself if the asymmetry of the stripes in his hair is pointed out by a person, automatically calling himself "useless asymmetric trash". In the index of Eibon's book, he referred to this obsession as "Order Madness". He is usually very mature and precise in his ways. Kid is naturally calm and collected, and as such, gets along perfectly well with other people, usually making his own decisions when it comes to symmetry or otherwise, even if he doesn't agree with their choices. He generally doesn't seem to have any problems socializing and genuinely cares about his friends.
Death The kid [4/5]
He is seen expressing concern over Soul's scar at one point, and also threatens Gopher that he will never forgive him if he hurts Maka. He also threw Liz and Patty away from him before being sucked into the book for not wanting them to go with him.
Kid generally appears to be somewhat introverted, often working on missions on his own and does not seem to have as close of a friendship with Black☆Star or Maka as Black☆Star and Maka have with each other. Maka mentions that it is difficult to match soul wavelengths with more than one weapon, but Kid as a highly skilled Meister is able to do so, as Liz and Patty have a strong connection and admiration for Kid, who gave them a better life. His father, Shinigami-sama/Death has mentioned that Kid is a Shinigami (God of Death) and does not need to collect souls, but Kid prefers to make a weapon to his own specifications. His father also says that since he uses two weapons, he will have to collect twice as many souls: 198 evil human souls and two witch souls instead of 99 souls and one witch soul. However, Kid is perfectly fine with this.
Kid shares a rivalry with Black☆Star, and seems to grow stronger as time goes on. It is possible that Kid is more susceptible to madness than Black☆Star or Maka, who were able to snap out of it on their own as he quickly succumbed to the madness of order in the Book of Eibon, while Black☆Star is able to quickly come to his senses outside of it. This may be due to his strong drive to create a perfect world. Though Kid's obsession with symmetry often hinders his performance and focus on missions, he does have good intentions. He wants to follow in his father's footsteps and help him make the world a more peaceful place that is safe from evil. However, Kid has occasionally contradicted himself on that matter. Due to his obsession with symmetry, Kid is able to quickly regain his sense of purpose and control over his world.
Death The kid [5/5]
Relationships: Liz Thompson: Like Patty, Liz is his partner, as she had to have weapons that perfectly match her obsession with symmetry. Despite being two guns, Kid is upset because they do not match in human form. Liz says that at first she joined Kid for the money, but as time went by, the three had a strong bond, therefore, she does not want to lose it.
Patty Thompson: The youngest of the Thompson sisters, and like her sister, Kid's partner. She cheers him up whenever he's down, and has a strong bond with him. Since they became partners, Patty was happier, at least that's what Liz noticed.
Franken Stein [1/4]
Name: Frankenstein Nickname: Dr. Stein Gender: Male Soul Type: Human Classification: Technical Companion: Spirit albern (Previously), Marie Mjolnir Occupation: Scientist, shibuzen master
Franken Stein (フランケン シュタイン, Furanken Shutain) is an extremely powerful doctor and Technician known to be the strongest Technician to ever graduate from Shibusen. He was Spirit Albarn's first partner, but would later be paired with Marie Mjolnir under Death's orders.
Appearance: Dr. Stein is a tall man with silver-grey hair and large, round glasses. He has a large screw running through his head, which he often uses to focus his thoughts. A distinctive feature of Stein are the stitches that adorn his clothing and body, the result of multiple experiments he has performed on his body. He always wears a white doctor's coat that also has stitches on it.
His soul is light blue, and has a similar appearance to Stein's, as it is adorned with stitches and has a large screw running through two of his large features.
Franken Stein [2/4]
Personality: Being a man of science, Dr. Stein sees everything, including himself, as an experiment or a specimen. This is a personality trait he has had since he was a child, due to which he often wanted to dissect the people around him. He was stopped many times by his partner and weapon Spirit.
This attitude of his personality made everyone around him fear him, and was the cause of his partner Spirit deciding to separate from him, because when he was sleeping Stein did experiments on him, something that was revealed by Maka's mother and Spirit's ex-wife, who after this would become his technician. Although Stein has become an adult he has not abandoned this trait, even once as part of a lesson, he tried to have his class dissect an endangered animal, claiming that it would be a shame not to know anything about it before they became extinct (part that only appears in the anime).
He exhibits a sadistic and intimidating personality. During his battle against Maka and Black Star, he grabbed Maka by one of her ponytails, lifted her shirt, and pulled out a marker to draw marks on her body to indicate where he would begin cutting, saying, "I could start by ripping off some of your soft skin." When Black Star tried to attack him, he not only neutralized the attack but responded in a way that would have seemed to fry her brain while holding a sadistic laugh on his face. Stein also suffers from latent insanity. He has even admitted that he is especially sensitive to it. Medusa went so far as to claim that he is prone to insanity and a simple exposure to it was enough to awaken her. Stein ultimately goes insane and strives to control it, even quitting smoking as a way to convince himself. When he struggles to maintain his insanity, his personality undergoes a drastic change, especially his natural curiosity, going from being a man of science to not showing his true nature.
Franken Stein [3/4]
experimental, this change can be attributed to Stein trying to control himself; this is also seen when he gives up smoking, claiming that if he was not able to stop, he would not be able to escape madness.
He has a smoking habit to the point that he is seen with a cigarette in almost all of his appearances outside of battles and at the end of them. He only smokes a certain brand of cigarettes. The woman who sells them imports them only for him since he is the only one who consumes them. His propensity for smoking has been used against him, as when Spirit and the rest suspect him of killing BJ, it is solely due to the fact that a box of cigarettes of the brand he smokes was found at the crime scene and Stein smelled like he had been smoking.
Emotionally, Nygus has described him as lonely and having no love in him. He has admitted that he cannot understand Spirit's reaction when Maka asked him to go shopping together. This shows that he cannot feel deep emotions except for the need to analyze what interests or irritates him. Despite this cruel and twisted personality, Stein has a compassionate side that cares for the people around him and feels the need to protect them. He also displays a rather fatherly demeanor towards his students.
He also expresses his deep moral outrage at Medusa for considering Chrona nothing more than trash and research material when she is his daughter. It is never stated when she discovers this other personality, although it could be assumed that it happened after Spirit left him and went with Kami.
Franken Stein [4/4]
Abilities: Stein is known to be the best technician to graduate from Shibusen, not only for being an independent technician who is able to surpass up to 4 technicians with weapons, but for his powerful frequency and his ability to expose his soul frequency and adapt to that of others. He is an expert in physical combat, without having to use his frequency he is able to knock out Black Star, and with a Death Scythe as a Spirit, he is able to surpass a high level witch like Medusa.
Black Star [1/1]
Name: Black Star Age: 14 years old Height: 1.64 Gender: Male Soul Type: Human Classification: Technical
Appearance: Black☆Star is a hyperactive and overly egotistical boy who aims to form the hegemony of the Dark Star. His way of dressing consists of t-shirts, a sleeveless shirt and white capri pants. His hair is blue. He is Tsubaki's meister (dark blade technician).
At the beginning of the series, Black☆Star was arrogant, loud, immature, and selfish. Although he fights as an assassin, he prefers to forget the Path of Assassination by haughtily shouting his speech (similar to Adolf Hitler) and making his presence known, the reason being that he is a massive attention seeker. He cannot stand anyone else receiving more attention than him, and will proceed to defeat anyone more popular than him so that he can become popular again.
He has a delusional intention of surpassing God, something he loudly proclaims even during combat, defeating the purpose of ninja stealth. His ego is so large that he constantly gives out autographs that no one wants and goes on a rampage at Shibushen Academy.
He is also a cheater and shameless, trying to steal the answers to the exam at the academy, which caused Dr. Stein to discover him and give him a brutal beating.
His loudness is often shown in his tendency to shout when he speaks and his signature cries of 'Ha ha!' or 'Yahoo!'
Relationships: Tsubaki is Black Star's weapon, which has many forms, but they also have a very good relationship, Black Star is always by Tsubaki's side. They seem to have a close relationship, without clarifying, they seem to love each other as family. When Tsubaki faced her brother, she wondered about the meaning of the star he wore on his clothes, to which Black ☆ Star told her that it was the emblem of his clan, then she took more appreciation and value to the brand because of the meaning of wearing it.
Tsubaki Nakatsukasa [1/5]
Name: Tsubaki Nakatsukasa Gender: Female Soul Type: Human Classification: Demonic Weapon Partner: Black Star Occupation: Shibuzen student Family: Masamune Nakatsukasa
Appearance: Tsubaki is a tall, attractive, and fairly well-endowed young woman of Japanese descent, about 16 or 17 years old. She wears a pale yellow mage's outfit with the bottom of the skirt slit down the side with a bright yellow star printed on the right side of her chest. She also wears a black scarf, and a black stocking that is tightly closed on her right leg starting just above the knee and white boots. She wears a sash that resembles Black Star's grey riveted straps that wraps around her waist twice and hangs diagonally from right to left. She has long black hair tied into a ponytail and large indigo eyes that are sometimes mistaken for a shade of dark blue. Occasionally, such as when she is bathing or playing basketball, her ponytail and the strands of hair on the side of her face are tied into "loops". When using the Demonic Sword, her hair is left loose, with tattoos that are the same pattern as Black Star. She wears grey and black bandages on her arms from the shoulder down, and wears a headband with a star symbol on each of her wrists.
Her soul is pale yellow in color and she has the long ponytail as her soul's "tail". At one time, the end of her tail resembles the blade of her scythe form attached by a chain. Tsubaki has a wide variety of weapon forms.
Tsubaki Nakatsukasa [2/5]
Personality: As one of the main characters, Tsubaki is one of the more mature ones along with Maka. However, she is not temporarily temper-tempered like the scythe user, and is instead patient and forgiving. Like Maka, she is shown to have a much more practical and level-headed personality than most of the other characters. She has a magnanimous, polite, and kind personality and always tries or will try to help or comfort her friends, even when she has no idea how to help. She is caring and understanding, and sometimes acts as a mediator when her friends fight, and her understanding and insight sometimes make her seem like a motherly figure to people who are having troubles. She cares deeply for her friends, and doesn't seem fond of things that might make them upset, even going as far as to suggest to Soul and Black Star to rescind the challenge to Maka after she lost the basketball match, due to not knowing the rules. She often worries about her friends if they are in danger, and feels bad when the people she cares about are hurt.
Tsubaki's soul is "very cooperative and has a lot of room to accept people" as Stein put it. Due to her nature of accepting people, she can see the good in people who, at first glance, don't seem to have anything nice about them (Such as her technician, Black Star and Mifune, despite the fact that he had joined Arachnophobia). She cares deeply for her friends, and prefers to avoid unnecessary conflict, usually being the one to spread any arguments between people, making her a reliable and trustworthy friend. Her patience often makes her the only calm one (aside from perhaps, Soul) in situations where everyone else has lost their temper.
Tsubaki Nakatsukasa [3/5]
Even in the fourth chapter Anger of Eibon's book, Tsubaki momentarily loses her temper, while the others are yelling at each other.
She is also generous, and kind-hearted, to the point that some people take advantage of her (Liz did this twice, once in the anime when she asks her to do an essay for her, and another time when Liz pretends that the food Tsubaki cooked was to impress a boy she liked). Her tendency to trust people at all times also hinders her once in the written test at Shibusen, when she fails to see a trick question. She also has a habit of apologizing even when it's not her fault (something she does often when Black Star does something wrong in front of people). One of the more mature, and flexible characters, Tsubaki is very friendly and gets along well with her classmates.
Tsubaki Nakatsukasa [4/5]
However, some people, such as her brother, Masamune, call out her capacity for generosity by calling her a pushover, telling her that she didn't have the ability to show her true feelings, or denying something she thinks isn't true. As a child, Tsubaki had a habit of pretending to like certain things in order to please others, such as when she told Masamune that she wanted to play ball when in reality, she wanted to play house. She suffers from low self-esteem in the beginning of the series, comparing her situation to the Camellia Flower, a "Flower without fragrance, blooming silently and staring tragically when its petals scatter." She can also be a bit submissive and reluctant to be direct. However, her confrontation with Masamune allowed her to mature and become more confident in herself, and she denies that she is a flower without fragrance, proving it with her brother's defeat. She learned to be more honest with herself. When the situation calls for it, she steps forward, proving to be just as determined and stubborn as Black Star himself. She refuses to use the Demon Sword when Black Star is too injured to continue fighting, and also yells at Maka and Soul to stop fighting each other during the battle against Free, showing that she can also be assertive. She is still easily embarrassed, as she can sometimes be paranoid and take things too literally, such as her reaction when Maka sarcastically suggests that Black Star and Soul become partners as they seem to be very good friends.
Tsubaki Nakatsukasa [5/5]
Despite being calm and having acceptance on her side, she still knows when someone is stepping out of line, and can be just as punishing as Maka when someone, especially her technician, does something inappropriate, such as spying on her while she is bathing (her usual retaliation is to throw a shuriken at Black Star's forehead, resulting in a spray of blood). Due to her serious nature, she still shows some dismay and shock alongside Maka when others do something ridiculous. She seems to have a talent for cooking, having been complimented on several occasions by her friends. She is not phased by cooking, even for dining halls like Black Star and Ragnarok; mostly because she thinks it is worth it to cook for someone with a large appetite. She is also very domestic, commenting that she enjoys cleaning as well. Black Star once let her clean the entire Shibusen library, something she happily did.
Kishins [1/1]
Kishin (鬼神, Kishin; FUNimation "Afreet"; literally meaning "Demon God") are beings created as a result of ingesting a significant amount of human souls. Anyone who achieves this rank will have as much power as a God of Death. People or demonic weapons that consume pure souls change their behavior, losing their reason and becoming more aggressive.
