Shaula's ability to manipulate others would also be something Soul would deeply despise. For someone whose partnership with Maka depends on trust and voluntary synchronization between two souls, controlling another person and turning them into an instrument would be practically the opposite of what Soul believes in.
If the two were to actually meet in an alternate timeline, Shaula might try to exploit his emotional weaknesses.
Shaula: "A Demonic Weapon tainted by Black Blood... Do you really believe you can control that inside you?"
Soul would show his teeth in his characteristic smile.
Soul: "I don't need to control everything alone."
Maka would position herself next to him.

That would be a great way to establish the opposition between them.

Arachne Gorgon — enemy and threat linked to Madness
Arachne Gorgon is a powerful witch, the older sister of Medusa Gorgon and leader of the Arachnophobia organization.
For Soul, Arachne would be a direct enemy of the DWMA. Her organization clashes with Shinigami-sama and his students, pitting Soul, Maka, and their friends against her forces.
There is also a particularly dangerous incompatibility between the two. Arachne works with powers and strategies related to madness, psychological manipulation, and control, while Soul already carries the Black Blood within him and must constantly confront the influence of the Little Ogre.
This means that attacks capable of disturbing the mind or the soul's frequency represent a special danger to him.

Little Ogre — The dark side within Soul
Finally, there is one of the most peculiar "relationships" in Soul's history: the Little Ogre, a small demon that appears in your inner world after you are contaminated by the Black Blood.

The Ogre appears within Soul's psyche, usually associated with the piano, and constantly tries to convince him to embrace the Madness and increasingly utilize the power of the Black Blood.
Therefore, he represents temptation, fear, power, and Soul's inner darkness.
Soul converses, discusses, and negotiates with him, but needs to prevent this influence from dominating his identity.

Asura — Great threat
Asura represents what Soul and his friends need to fight on a much larger scale: Madness.
The Kishin's presence affects the entire world and makes Soul's situation particularly dangerous because of the Black Blood within him.
Asura is not a personal rival of Soul in the same way as other antagonists, but he represents an existential threat to him, Maka, and the entire DWMA.
Relationship: enemy and ultimate manifestation of Madness that Soul needs to confront.

Medusa Gorgon — Enemy
Medusa Gorgon is one of Soul's and DWMA's greatest enemies.
In addition to manipulating Crona, his experiments involving Black Blood have direct consequences for Soul.
Therefore, even without a deep personal relationship between the two, Medusa is connected to some of the greatest traumas and dangers he has faced.

Blair — Friend and constant source of embarrassment
Blair is a cat with enormous magical powers whom Maka and Soul initially mistake for a witch.
After that encounter, Blair ends up becoming part of their daily lives.
His extremely provocative personality often gets Soul into embarrassing situations — especially when Maka is around.
Despite this, Blair ends up being a true ally of the group.
Relationship: friend, ally, and constant presence in Maka and Soul's domestic life. She doesn't mind being completely naked in front of Soul, teasing him, as comic relief.

Shinigami-sama — Director and highest authority of the DWMA
Death is the founder and director of DWMA.
Soul is a student under his authority and shares the traditional goal of the Demon Weapons academy: to consume 99 Kishin Egg souls and one witch soul to become a Death Scythe capable of serving the Shinigami.
Thus, Shinigami-sama represents the institution and professional goal that guide Soul's initial journey.
Relationship: director, authority figure, and potential future master should Soul become Death Scythe.

Dr. Franken Stein — Professor and mentor
Franken Stein is one of the most important Soul teachers at DWMA.
Soul initially finds Stein unsettling—with good reason—but comes to deeply respect his skill as a Meister.
Stein also possesses extensive knowledge of Soul Wavelength, Madness, and Black Blood, concepts directly related to the problems faced by Soul.
Therefore, he serves as a teacher and role model for Soul and Maka.
Relationship: teacher, mentor, and ally.

Spirit Albarn — Father of Maka and Death Scythe
Spirit Albarn is Maka's father and a Death Scythe.
Soul knows Spirit well and frequently witnesses the complicated relationship between him and Maka.
Since Soul desires to become a Death Scythe, Spirit also represents what Soul could eventually achieve as a Demon Weapon.
Their personalities are very different, but there is a certain professional respect between them.
Relationship: ally, father of his Meister, and veteran among the Demon Weapons.

Ragnarok — Enemy and Counterpoint
Ragnarok is the Demonic Weapon linked to Crona.
The relationship between Ragnarok and Soul is primarily antagonistic, especially since it was Ragnarok's attack that contaminated Soul with Black Blood.
There is also an interesting contrast: both are Demon Weapons, yet their relationships with their respective Meisters are radically different, especially at the beginning of the story.
Maka and Soul develop power through trust and cooperation. Crona and Ragnarok initially have a relationship marked by abuse, fear, and domination.

Crona — From enemy to ally
Crona has a particularly complicated relationship with Soul.
Initially, Crona is an enemy.
During the battle between Maka and Crona, Soul protects Maka and ends up being struck by Ragnarok. It is precisely this event that introduces Black Blood into Soul.
Therefore, Crona is indirectly linked to one of the greatest psychological transformations of his life.

Patty Thompson, on the other hand, is unpredictable, cheerful, and extremely eccentric.
Soul maintains a friendly relationship with both, especially due to the numerous missions their groups undertake together.

Death the Kid — Friend and companion
Death the Kid starts out as someone relatively separate from Maka and Soul's group, but quickly transforms into one of their main companions.
Soul typically reacts with disbelief to Kid's obsessions with symmetry.
Despite this, he greatly respects his abilities.
As the story progresses, Soul, Maka, Black☆Star, and Kid become the core of the new generation of DWMA fighters.
Relationship: close friend, colleague, and comrade-in-arms.

Tsubaki Nakatsukasa — Close friend
Tsubaki Nakatsukasa is Black☆Star's Demon Weapon and one of the group's closest friends.
Soul greatly respects Tsubaki. His gentle and patient personality often serves as a counterpoint to the explosive personalities of the others.
There is also a natural understanding between the two, as they are both Demonic Weapons.
Relationship: close friend and colleague of DWMA.

Black☆Star — Best friend and rival
Black Star is probably Soul's closest male friend.
The two complement each other very well precisely because they possess irreverent personalities. Black☆Star is loud, competitive, and wants to surpass God; Soul tries to maintain a relaxed and stylish demeanor.
They often do silly things together, tease each other, and turn simple situations into competitions.
However, there is genuine respect between them.
Soul recognizes Black☆Star's absurd determination, while Black☆Star considers Soul a reliable companion.
Relationship: best friends, battle companions, and friendly rivals.

Maka Albarn — Meister, partner and closest person.
Maka Albarn is by far Soul's most important relative. She is his Meister, while Soul takes the form of a Demon Scythe to be wielded by her.
At first, the two are constantly arguing. Maka is responsible, studious, and determined, while Soul prefers to act in a relaxed manner and is always trying to show how "cool" he is. Despite the fights, there is enormous trust between them.

Despite his laid-back demeanor and obsession with appearing "cool," Soul possesses a far more complex nature than he lets on. He prefers to hide fear, insecurity, and worry behind a confident smile and provocative comments.
