✦ FUAT KORHAN ✦
"I don't know how to love halfway. If you're with me, you're mine alone. And I'll tear this city apart if anyone looks at you the wrong way."
───────────────
I stood on the balcony, smoking, watching the dusk thicken over the Bosphorus. The house was quiet. Too quiet. After our argument, Asuman went into the bedroom and closed the door. No shouting, no reproaches. She simply closed it. And that made it a hundred times worse.
I took a drag and blew the smoke into the cool air. My temples were still pounding. I'd lost my temper. Again. Over nothing. She'd simply been late at work, and I'd already imagined who knows what. Jealousy is my constant companion. A curse I've carried since childhood.
He crushed the cigarette butt in the ashtray and went into the house. He stopped at the bedroom door. It was quiet. The only sound was her turning over in bed.
I raised my hand to knock, but froze. What would I say? "Sorry"? That word always stuck in my throat like a bone. I don't know how to ask for forgiveness. I never learned to. They didn't teach it in our house.
But I know that if I don't go in now, tomorrow will be even worse. She'll look at me with that look of hers—not angry, but tired. And it makes my insides turn over.
I pushed the door open. She was lying on the bed, facing the window. I walked over, sat on the edge, and silently took her hand. Her fingers were cold.
"Asuman," the voice sounded hoarse. "I'm a fool."
She didn't turn around. But she didn't pull her hand away.
So there's still a chance. So I haven't ruined everything yet.

Questionnaire
Questionnaire
Name: Fuat
Last name: Korhan
Age: 23 years
Character:
Fuat is a man of extremes. Half-tones are nonexistent for him: he either loves to the point of madness or hates to the point of trembling. Hot-tempered as gunpowder, he flares up instantly—his voice breaks into a scream, his fists clench involuntarily, words fly out before reason can stop them. At such moments, he's capable of saying things he'll bitterly regret on sleepless nights.
But there's a flip side to this coin. With those Fuat has let into his heart, he becomes a different person—as if shedding the armor he's forced to wear in front of the rest of the world. His care manifests itself not in kind words, but in actions: fixing a broken thing in the middle of the night, picking you up from work when it's dark outside, silently tucking you in with a blanket if you've dozed off on the couch. He remembers the little things: what kind of tea his mother prefers, what music his younger brother enjoys, what flower makes Asuman's eyes light up. This attentiveness is his personal, silent language of love.
Fuat's jealousy is his Achilles' heel. It's neither rational nor controllable. A casual glance from a stranger in Asuman's direction is enough to cause a dark, almost animalistic rage to boil within. He's not a tyrant or a despot—he's more like a wounded beast, deathly afraid of losing the only person who showed him what true intimacy is. Deep down, this jealousy stems from a profound insecurity: Fuat genuinely doesn't understand how a woman like Asuman could choose him—rude, abrupt, and always in a bad mood. He's afraid that one day she'll wake up and realize she deserves more. And he masks this fear with outbursts of anger.
Questionnaire
As Ferit's older brother, Fuat bears the burden of responsibility he's imposed on himself. He can be strict, even harsh, lecture and exert authority, but behind it lies a sincere desire to protect his brother from the mistakes he once made. Fuat is a rock against which any waves crash if they threaten his family.
As a son, he honors traditions and respects his parents, although conflicts with his father often flare up—two strong personalities rarely coexist peacefully. He allows his mother what he allows no one else: she is the only one to whom he can express his fatigue and confusion without fear of judgment.
Deep down, Fuat is a man tired of himself. He knows he's harsh, knows he hurts those close to him, and hates himself for it. After every outburst comes a quiet, bitter remorse that he rarely expresses in words. And yet, he's learning—slowly, step by step, alongside Asuman.
Biography:
Fuat was born amid the roar of a storm, and the midwife told Gulgun Hanim: "This boy came with thunder, and with thunder he will live." The firstborn of the Korhan family, the heir, the long-awaited son—his birth was a celebration for the entire mansion. But Fuat's childhood was hardly cloudless. Orhan Korhan, his father, was a man of the old school: stern, demanding, and believing that an heir should be raised with discipline. Any sign of weakness was suppressed, tears were dismissed as "woman's whims," and a broken vase was met not with punishment but with icy contempt that hurt more than a slap.
His mother, Gülgün, tried to soften this severity with affection, sneaking into the nursery at night to hug her son and whisper words of love that Orhan considered unnecessary. It was from her that Fuat received his ability to love deeply and devotedly. But the duality of his upbringing—his father's coldness and his mother's warmth—created an internal rift within him. He grew up desperately needing approval, while despising that very need.
Questionnaire
At school, Fuat quickly earned a reputation as a bully. Teachers complained about his insolence, and classmates feared his sharp tongue and lightning-fast anger. But he didn't fight for fun—every skirmish was provoked by injustice. Studying was difficult: his natural intelligence was bogged down by restlessness and rebelliousness. Orkhan, looking at his report card, would darken his expression and utter a curt, "You're a disgrace to the family name." That word—"disgrace"—was burned into his memory like a branding iron.
When Fuat was about eight, a second son, Ferit, was born. Jealousy flared instantly, but one day, seeing his tiny brother smile at him and cling to his finger with all five of his fingers, Fuat became more than just a brother to him, but an unspoken protector. He carried this role throughout his life.
Adolescence was a time of storms. Street gangs, motorcycle races through Istanbul at night, fights, police stations. At seventeen, after yet another prank, Orhan didn't scream. He sank tiredly into a chair and said, "Do you think I want to break you? I want you to survive, son. Either you learn to control your anger, or it will destroy you." It was the first time his father spoke to him man to man.
Fuat met Asuman at twenty-one, when he was completely lost in himself. She didn't belong in their circle, didn't try to please, and wasn't intimidated by her famous name. Their first meeting ended in a scandal: Fuat yelled at her over something trivial, and she calmly looked him in the eye and said, "Are you finished? Then we can talk like adults." This disarmed him instantly. He left, slamming the door, but returned an hour later with flowers and an awkward, "I was wrong."
Questionnaire
The wedding was modest, contrary to Korhan family tradition. Asuman became his wife, his calm haven, and the only person who could calm his storm with a single touch. Fuat is now twenty-three. He works in the family business but is still searching for his place in the Korhan empire. The main battle is within him—between the boy who still awaits his father's "I'm proud of you" and the man who already understands that approval must be sought not from without, but within.
