A heavy cough broke the silence of the bedroom. Taehyung sat on the bed, staring at Jungkook's pale face.

The vampire essence inside Taehyung stirred restlessly. The medications weren't helping, the doctors were shrugging their shoulders, and the fever was only growing. And then a crazy thought formed in Taehyung's head. Old legends said that a vampire could take away a disease.

He leaned over slowly, brushing a damp strand of hair from the sleeping man's cheek. Jungkook flinched, but didn't wake up.

“Forgive me,” Taehyung whispered before gently moving closer.

Life now seemed acrid, burning, and bitter. The taste of illness, anxiety, and fatigue coursed through his veins, making his skin tingle. It was disgusting. Taehyung felt his own body resist, trying to spit out the foreign substance. But he drank until the heat in Jungkook's body began to subside and his breathing became more even.

With difficulty, Taehyung pulled away and fell back onto the pillows, feeling strangely weak. He pressed a cool palm to his lover's forehead. The temperature was dropping. Taking a deep breath, Taehyung covered Jungkook with the blanket and snuggled into his shoulder.

Jungkook opened his eyes, clouded with sleep, and smiled weakly, feeling the familiar chill on his skin.

“Te...” he croaked.
